Maybe I look at the passing game differently. The first 2 series of the game I did not recognize the team in white. They were passing all over the place...and it didn't seem to go very well. 3 and out the first series on all passes and 3 and a blocked FG on several passes. Very little running early on for North Texas. The 80 yard drive finished with a pass play, but it was setup by the runs by Jamario. THAT is the correct use of the passing game. Get the other team thinking RUN and suprise them with a pass.

Are you talking about the "wedge" looking part that runs from front to back? UT had those too. UNT should look into the pills the UT players took before the game to monitor the internal body temperature. Plus those vests that you can circulate cold water through on the bench.

I agree with you Screaming Eagle. With all of the penalties we put on ourself, I think the score could have been much worse. Late in the game Texas had the 3rd or 4th string RB in the game. You can't tell them to not score. I watched the game on TV. The one thing I was disapointed in were the defensive penalties and the punt coverage. You give any team the ball in your own side of the 50, that is bad. Plus getting faked out by the QB calls by the nose tackle was really bad. UNT played better this time around. I can see a much closer score without so many nose guard penalties and better punt coverage.

I will miss the SMU game. See this post on GMG I am in surgery Thrusday and will be in the hospital for the weekend. Note to self...bring a radio to listen to UNT v. smu game.

Only drive of the game. What was shocking to me was the FG attempt in the 1st quarter. No fault of the NT players. I watched the replay from the end zone. All of the linemen jumped at least 1 foot. That is impressive.

Nose guard should NEVER be off sides. He is right next to the ball. He watches the ball move instead of the QB calls.

I am not in an auction league, but I drafted Patrick. Granted he's my #4 RB and will need a lot of injuries from others to make it into the starting lineup full time.

Did New England get a STEAL out of this? The Patriots get Cobbs for FREE. Free agent...undrafted...et al. They trade him to Pittsburgh FOR AN UNDISCLOSED DRAFT CHOICE. Patrick went from "no value" to at least a draft pick value. Way to go Patrick. Now he plays behind Parker, Staley, Vernon Hynes (has some yards in 14 games last year) and Cedric Humes (no stats, possible college player). Waiting for NFL.com to update the depth chart. Waiting for http://news.steelers.com/ to update too.

I drafted PC in my CBS Sportline fantasy league. He was not even listed in the ESPN league. I will pick him up on waivers when he makes the final cut...where ever he goes.

Hope it is better for you. I am watching the UNT - tu game from home because I have to work later that day (6P-6A). As it turns out I will miss the UNT - smu game the next week. I am in surgery on the 7th and will still be in the hospital till Sunday.

I think it is called "Band-Wagoning." Band wagon fans climb on the band wagon when the team is winning. This creates an unsafe condition where the band wagon is overweight and unstable. When the team starts losing and the band wagon fans start jumping off, this can cause the band wagon to crash in a most ugly way. This crash is especially dangerous for the "true fans" of the team because they are so loyal they will not jump off the band wagon. These are the fans who are hurt the most in the crash.

If Patrick isn't careful, he might just make this team. I was watching the Cowboys game Saturday. The discussion was along the lines of rookies and how they can be impressive in preseason. The bad news is they still may get cut. The good news is that if the player is impressive enough, he may get picked up by another team. So even in the chance that PC gets cut or sent to the practice squad, he may still get picked up by another team. Sweet!
