I was suprised the Green Unit did as well as they did. Maybe this means we have a future after all. Most of these guys will be playing after members of the first unit graduate.

I am going but I am not sure I can get 3 other people to go. There is someone in Austin selling his Section C seats for that game for $20 starting bid ($32 for Buy It Now). If I can get one other person to go I may buy those.

I think there were some positives that came out of this game. We found out what our backups can do. I am sure there are others...but I just can't think of them right now. But a blowout would have been more devistating then anything.

From the recent press, both men's and women's teams have great potential. They just have to perform in the SBC tournament at season's end. Only one will get invited to the NCAAs and that is the conference tournament champ. Finish strong and win the tournament and we go to NCAAs.

Sorry guys...I'm in Tyler this weekend for Wife's birghday celebration with her family. There is only ONE HOME GAME LEFT after this one and the only way I miss the game against Florida Atlantic is IF THE WORLD COMES TO AN END BEFORE THEN!

Even if we win out I seriously doubt we get invited to any bowl (unless we pull the SBC out of our ass and go to New Orleans). Just because you win 6 games does not mean bowl sponsors are beating down the locker room door. Didn't Troy or someone else win 6 either in 2005 or 2004 and not get a bowl invite?

Last I saw baseball was a "club" sport for NT...not a varsity program. I do not recall baseball ever being a varsity program at UNT. I could be wrong.

D 1-A football is what drives the bus. Even a sub par program. Football not only funds itself, it funds the other programs and facilities. Remember, we are not that far removed from winning the SBC football title...FOUR TIMES IN A ROW!

A good schedule against winnable games will help in the future. Not a lot of people want to see NT play some small 1-AA school. This years schedule is lightly sprinkled with those. I like the Indiana game a few years ago (though it was mostly UI people at the game ) and NT has scheduled tu and Texas Tech in the past. I would like to see those games gradually make it back on the schedule. This is how you fund the basketball program...as opposed to the "paycheck games" (bodybag games, et al...what ever you want to call the NT vs. tu game this year for example). You play programs that are only slightly better then yours and hang with them. So I don't see a point in scheduling Kansas, Ohio State, Duke, North Carolina, UConn, et all any time soon.

I think the animosity for SMU runs a little deeper.

The biggest thing to do to increase attendance is to put a winning product on the floor. Gimics and givaways are nice, but ultimately people are there to watch the game.

Is this the UNT version of Midnight Madness? I can go on the 10th. I am working on the 7th. Doesn't really matter how well you do in the regular season. Since there is only one SBC team going to the NCAA Tourny, you have to win the SBC tourny. So UNT has to finish high enough in the regular season to go to the SBC tourny, but then get really hot in the tourny to go to the NCAAs.
