  1. If UCLA wins it all, they will be the first team to lose the first round of the conference tournament and win the NCAA tournament. I hate to say UCLA has a good defense too.
  2. I am always grateful for the Police and always pray for your safety. You guys and girls deserve all of the respect in the world. I am also very grateful and pray for the safety of Rick and all of the firemen.
  3. I really like G-Town...but I have to go with the Buckeyes.
  4. I guess any conference that is not part of the "Big 6" (aka: BCS) conferences is a "bad conference."
  5. Student/Pit Crew section is on that end too. Need to get the visitors back to where we can jack with them again.
  6. I would hope JJ can parlay this tournament showing into a better OOC schedule. I would like to see more games against better teams, especially more B12 and SMU and TCU.
  7. I thought that was Calvin Watson. CW got a mention in the "Players to Watch" section. That one is a keeper for me.
  8. I hope basketball in Texas is turning around. Texas and Texas Tech are no longer the only big time BB schools in the state. 5 Texas teams made the tourny and not all of them Big 12. I look forward to more competition in the state for basketball.
  9. Wish I could have gone with you guys but I was on my way out of town anyway for vacation. I will save my money and go next year.
  10. I hope Jones can parlay this into a better schedule. I hope he can schedule Nebraska again, along with Texas Tech, SMU, TCU, Baylor, and maybe Texas. Then expand to other good schools like Memphis, Arkansas, et al. Might end up taking a beating on some of those, but our RPI won't suffer as much.
  11. List of locations available on Meen Green Sports.com Including: AT THE SUPER PIT!!!! Deciding on where to go. Either the Pit or somewhere in Lewisville.
  12. McCoy: That's not very damn funny. Kirk: You're sense of humors returned! McCoy: The hell it has!
  13. Hope USA can validate the NCAA choice of leaving Syracuse out of the big tourney. Of course Syracuse has a HUGE chip on their shoulder.
  14. If you picked Marquette in the game vs Michigan State...you might want to rethink that. McNeal to miss tourney game with thumb injury MILWAUKEE -- Marquette guard Jerel McNeal will miss the first round of the NCAA Tournament because of an injured right thumb. The sophomore has been sidelined for Marquette's last three games and won't play in the Golden Eagles' game against Michigan State on Thursday, associate athletic director Mike Broeker said Tuesday. McNeal is a second-team all-Big East selection who's averaging 14.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.6 steals. Golden Eagles coach Tom Crean said Sunday that he was "not holding out great hope" that McNeal would be available for their first-round NCAA Tournament game. "Would we love it? Would he love it? No question," Crean said. "Are we going to go into the week planning on having him? Probably not. But we'll just wait and see how it turns out, what goes on with it. We'd love to have him. I mean, it's just not there yet. There's no way it's there yet." Marquette beat Pittsburgh at home without McNeal on March 3, then beat St. John's in the Big East tournament last week before losing to Pittsburgh. Copyright 2007 by The Associated Press
  15. SWEET! Now I have a choice of where to go to watch the game.
  16. Great vid and great pub for the school and team. Thanks for the link. I hated that I missed the original airing.
  17. I have to work that night but I think everything will be done in time for me to get home, sleep for a while, and go to work that night. I am spectator. See you all then... MedPilot...I still need an air-lift to the hospital for my sprained pinky toe.
  18. So I am wrong about that one. Still...no one had heard of Gonzaga and they made a splash in their first showing in the tournament. They have had at least a good 10 year run. Point is...you gota start somewhere. I saw the thread with the upsets. There have been a lot more 15s beating 2s then I recall. Pretty rare though.
  19. Memphis is a really good team and they were #5 in the nation for a long time. They swept C-USA and the tourney. I thought for sure UM would get a #1. Remember Gonzaga. The first year they made the tournament, they SHOCKED Syracuse. I think that is still the only #15 seed to beat a #2 seed. I'm not saying NT is the next "Gonzaga" but you have to start somewhere.
  20. I'm there. Sweet.
  21. So now the next thing to watch is the Selection Show on Sunday to see where NT ends up. More watching parties? I have to work so I will have to read it in the paper or something.
  22. I have my ticket. Maybe NT should play the lottery once. If they win, they can use the money to build the stadium.
  23. I think that is already in place...it is called the BCS. If your school is a member of the 6 BCS conferences (B12, P10, B10, BE, ACC, SEC) you have more money, shot at talent, and facilities. Go beyond the BCS bowl games. Look at the other bowls and how many include one or two BCS teams? I am not sure if there are any conferences that do not share the bowl money, but I am sure all the BCS conferences do, so even the Baylors, Vanderbelts, Washington States, Indianas, et al get some cash while putting in a losing record. Look at the other conferences and how many bowls they go to. Granted, 2 SBC teams went to bowl games in 2006, normally SBC only gets 1 bowl game and that pays less then $500K. That payout is less then what some of the BCS non-bowl teams get. And this is just football. Basketball is geared the same way. The big conferences get to send the regular season AND conference tournament winners to the NCAAs (plus 3-5 others depending on at-large bids). Smaller conferences only get 1 automatic bid...the conference tournament winner. You know there are other teams that are worthy of going to the NCAAs that get passed over in favor of a big conference team. Balancing the number of scholorships per school was a way to help level the playing field. Now there needs to be a way to balance the money. The BCS schools will not suffer because they have the name recognition. Kids will still PAY for school to ride the bench for the big schools instead of get a scholorship and play at a smaller school.
  24. Make sure it is on a Saturday I am off. I worked this past Saturday (3/3) and am off 3/10. Set it for April 21. I am off that day for sure.
  25. A lot of basketball publications believe Nash is in the lead for the MVP. How can you deny Dirk when his team has the best record in the NBA?
