I figured UALR would be a 16 seed. Probably even have to play a play-in game. What a strange bracket setup by the NCAA. An 11 and 12 seeds have to play in? Wacked.

If it had only been one mistake - 1 or 2 fouls, a turnover. North Texas might have survived. I only got to listen to the last part of the game on the radio. I remember more the fouls then anything else. Every basketball coach can take that film of the last 1:42 and show exactly why you don't give the other team the opportunity to score with the clock stopped.

Everyone else can put this down but I for one will start doing this and hope that it catches on. Almost everyone has seen the commercials on ESPN for "Its not crazy, its sports" where everone in the commercial is greeting and saying goodbye with "Roll Tide." I will be doing that with Go Mean Green from now on. So instead of saying "Goodbye" or "Later" or something like that, everyone say "Go Mean Green." I will even change my signature to say "Go Mean Green" instead of "Bring Out the Mean Green" which was the chant in the 70's and 80's before the football and basketball games to bring out the Mean Green.

Remember the pecking order of conferences. C-USA gets the most bowl bids of any non-BCS conference. Moving from the C-USA to Mountain West would be a step down...unless MWC has a plan to suddenly become a BCS conference. while a move for Boise State gets them into a better conference, I would have expected Bosie State to go to a BCS conference. BSU is a good fit to replace Nebraska and Colorado in the Big 12 North...if the Big 12 survives.

I am giddy as a school girl that Texas is going to make the playoffs. But the reality is that they are really limping into the playoffs. They are not playing like they are going to go far into the playoffs. A few weeks ago I was hoping they would catch the Twins for the #2 seed but that won't happen. Mostly because the Twins started playing really well and could have the best record. Texas is not beating the teams they should and not beating the teams they need to. Since the Yankees sweep in Arlington, they have lost series to Seattle, Anaheim, and Oakland. These are bottom feeder teams they should at a minimum take 2 out of 3 from. Then they were swept by Minnesota and that is a team they should play well against because that is the caliber of team they will face in the playoffs. This was with about 21 games left. I was not expecting Texas to go on a 21-0 streak, but winning two thirds of their games is the pace they need to go far. I am not a fair weather fan. I will cheer on the Rangers till the bitter end. But it really looks like that bitter end will be in the first round against the Yankees…AGAIN!

I have been caring for them since then and need to find them a good home. I think they are both mixed breed and are less then a year old. Typical of BCS schools. Unless it is someone you are guaranteed of beating, why schedule them? BCS schools will play eachother for non-conference games (Ohio State - USC, Ohio State - Texas) but to play the non-BCS teams is supposed to be an automatic win. Here is another great quote from the article: If Utah could get to play a BCS type schedule. But for thay are not in a BCS conference. Just another case of the haves vs. the have nots. Is Nebraska willing to put up or shut up? If they refuse the offer, they should change their name from the Huskers to the Pussies.

Glad to see the coach has a "soft spot" for Cobbs. Not to be a pessimist, but this is a dangerous year for Patrick. He has a few years under him and can be replaced by a younger, lower contract player. I wish the best for him an hope he can make the team again.

I LOVE the Burn Notice. It is one of the few shows I will watch re-runs. I have the season 1 DVD and want the season 2. I watch the show and recite the opening. I will spend a day watching the marathon on USA. 1. Burn Notice 2. Simpsons 3. Everyone Hates Chris (I like Chris Rock) 4. South Park These 4 shows I record and watch since I am usually working or something when they are on.

True Obama is increasing the debt. But remember...GWB added a lot to the national debt but there is nothing to show for it. No update in infrastructure, nothing to show for the spending. Obama is having to undo all of the problems GWB administration did. The fall of the banking industry (because of the safety precautions removed over the last 8 years) lead to the decrease in the economy. The bail-out is to get companies spending and HIRING people again...to get the economy running again.

Definately not time to panic....but... The angles are playing really well the last month or so. This isn't a Ranger meltdown...this is another team playing better. Hope the laws of average catch up to the angles and Texas can keep playing consistantly.
