  1. Newspapers have to keep up. We are in a digital age. The printed newspaper is almost gone. Newspaper companies have to have a website and put the news online. By the time it comes out in print, the news is already old. Magazines are the same way but worse. Sports Illustrated delivers every week. Newspapers and magazines have to offer something besides scores and highlights. They have to provide some inside knowledge. Sports Illustrated does that pretty well.
  2. Nobody has the kickoff countdown timer for their signature?
  3. Yea...he's ok I guess. (uber-sarcasim)
  4. "The addition, effective July 1, 2013, is Texas-Arlington, which will come in from the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) Southland Conference as a non-football-playing member." Is this a "wordy" way of saying UTA is in for everything but football?
  5. Congrats to FFR and the team.
  6. 51 year olds hat it when they travel too. It seems the more of a "super star" the player is the more he can get away with it. Does a three year old know what "Pandering" means?
  7. The 'stache gets a contract extension and huge raise but Rick doesn't? I'm out if the 'stache starts its own "World's Most Interesting Man" type commercials.
  8. Rick to star in his own TV show "RV on RVing" Eh.... Maybe not. "Everyone Loves RV?" "RV Guy?" "Law and Order: RV?" "NCIS:RV?" Running out of show names.
  9. Not sure I like the term "re-treads." Makes it sound like NT is recruiting rejects or washed up players.
  10. So you can still make things even for all by having the designated smoking area far enough away from enterances. The governing body, in this case North Texas, can make it a pain in the ass to be a smoker by putting the area away from the enterance and out in the open enough. If it is raining that day...the smoker gets to choose which they want to do - get their fix and get cold and wet or not get their fix and stay dry. Hard to argue against "we provided smokers a place...too bad it is inconvenient for them."
  11. I can neither confirm nor deny this and I am sure it would be very hard to confirm from anyone part of Westboro but... I heard that the "church" is not so interested in the issue as they are in the publicity and potential law suits. Westboro is only looking for a violation of their civil rights so they can sue. Remember, only governments can violate a person’s or group’s civil rights. Companies and individuals have no legal bounds to watch out for another’s civil rights. That is not to say that companies and individuals can’t violate other laws pertaining to the treatment of others.
  12. Quite true...but without the steroids...we think.
  13. That is scary. If TM is #2, who is #1? Michael Jordan find the fountain of youth and is 21 again?
  14. Permanent home for the tournament or rotate like before? I like the neutral site tournament idea. Make everyone travel.
  15. Is Denton closer to home for him?
  16. Strange...I think all of these elections were local elections. I did not get my new voters card till the day of. At least I have it for the primaries.
  17. So the world is NOT coming to an end December 21st. And I already spent all of my retirement money on hookers and beer and .... Just kidding.
  18. Josh Hamilton breaks THE bat on his last hit - a single to Left Field. The following day he loses his grip on a new bat and it flies into the stands. Just imagine the fights, what the Hall of Fame would have to give up to get the bat if that one had been THE bat....
  19. I am not a smoker but I am not going to support policies or laws to keep smokers from smoking. The rights of the smoker falls under Freedom of Speech and the part of the Constitution that says "...Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness." It is all about balance. You can have your rights so long as they don't infringe on my rights. Is making them smoke outside not enough? Is making them smoke only in a designated area outside not enough?
  20. When do thay make those available to the general public?
  21. Wait a little while longer. It'll happen. IMO, New Mexico State bailed on the Sun Belt too soon. I thought NMSU would be a good rivelry for UNT. If Middle Tennessee State doesn't make it to CUSA, we lose that rivelry too (love to hate those blue raiders). Speaking of rivelries - you don't create Ohio State - Michigan, Texas - OU, Florida - Florida State or North Carolina - Duke type rivelries over night but it has to start somewhere. I would love to have North Texas - someone else become a big rivelry some day.
  22. Last one holding the bag...just like Houston and the breakup of the SWC.
  23. So everyone gets a farewell tour.
  24. 4 HR game is more rare then a perfect game. If you watched ESPN this morning, all 4 HRs came with the pitch in the same position. Outer third fo the plate. Maybe they should pitch him somewhere else? Congrats to Josh.
  25. So we do get a "Farewell Tour" of the Sunbelt this season. I just thought that was strange. I was expecting to start in C-USA immediately.
