Happy birthday to all of you. That is a lot of candles to blow out...between the 4 of you, not necessarily for one individual.

Penn State still gets some scholorships. The hard sell will be no bowl game and no national championship. Only the real diehard PSU players will go there for a while.

It helps the bottom line. Football programs at some of the higher level schools pay for everything else because they take in so much.

Not sure I like the term "Cornhole boards."

Sounds like someone needs more fiber in their diet.

Maybe next season the Mavericks will not make the playoffs, be a lottery team, and get Mitchell.

It seems to be headed that direction. The "Big 6" BCS conferences + Notre Dame rule the BCS bowl games (except for the BCS Buster every once in a while) and a non-BCS school has little chance of being in the top 4 in the country.

Hideous is an understatement. Maybe the NCAA should put a stop to the "non-traditional color" field.

I thought that was what gun ranges were for. Go practice firing your weapon be it a rifle or hand gun. Not sure where you are going with this Rudy. Are you annoyed that people brag about guns or that there are people who don't want anyone to have guns? I personally do not own a gun. I am not one to rant against anyone having a gun mostly because I believe in the US Constitution and do not have a problem with anyone owning a gun legally.

I hate OU but Stoops is a class coach. Does not matter if a player is a top flight starter or last on the bench...you make a big enough mistake that the player should know better, Stoops has no problem kicking him off the team. These kids fail to realize that their road to the NFL goes through college. They risk their future by making stupid mistakes.

To make it a true championship, 11 (or 10) conference champions, at-large bids to fill out the rest of a 16 team field, seed them 1-16, play at neutral sites...basically like a smaller version of the basketball tournament. For now it will be "top 4 teams" (not necessarily "best 4"). Cought the last part of a piece on ESPNU about the playoff. The example they used is one of the top 4 teams has one loss while the #5 team is undefeated. When you are talking the top teams in the nation how can you say Team A is deserving even with 1 loss while team B is not deserving?

KingDL1 - I thought those were off the rack. Congrats if they are custom. Make them any way you want. But like I said...for the longest time I could never find NT stuff because of licensing. North Texas changed the way they license stuff and that allows sellers to sell NT stuff that you would not see 5 years ago. Not that I want someone to polish a turd and put an NT logo on it. Reserve that for UT and OU.

This is where you build your RPI so you can get consideration for the NCAAs without winning the conference tournament. That is not to say every non-conference game needs to be against a Kentucky-esk team but playing DII, III, NAIA teams can wreck your RPI. Those games need to be used for exhibition.

For the longest time I was mad because I would see kiosks in malls with stuff from other schools. I would ask “Do you have any North Texas stuff” and the reply was always “No…it is because of licensing.” The owner could sell a polished turd with UT Longhorns on it and idiots would buy it up. Some stuff was ok but most of it was crap. I’m sorry. Those boots fall under the crap category. Not so bad as to fall in the polished turd category…but crap. I just can’t do boots of any kind. Don’t get me wrong. I love seeing UNT licensed stuff out there. Several years ago there was a guy selling these wooden footballs with college logos on them. Looked real nice – varnished stand and ball. At the time he did not have the license to have North Texas. I would have bought one of those.

Yes! Let's go with any of the helmets from 1953 to 1971. I like the NT football logo (1968-1971) or the solid green shell (1953-1955).
