Wouldn't 20 team conference start messing with schedules too much? 2 divisions of 10 means you play 9 games in division, no one from the other division and only 3 OOC games. SEC has 16 and they had to remove some of the "play teams in the opposite division" game (which benifited Georgia because they did not have to play Alabama till the championship game, or LSU) and keep 4 OOC games.

I guess this means last rights to the Big East. Between the basketball schools and football schools making a run for it spells the end of The Big East. So SMU is going to the Big East...is it going to be like the breakup of the old Southwest Conference when Houston was the last team there?

I don't recall exactly how many NBA teams there are (30?) but I know there isn't 45. Some teams doubling up? Or maybe it is each recruiter is looking at only one player instead of the whole game in general.

When do we play them again?

This is just a sad story. Drinking + Automobile + Speed = Accident and death. Definitely not a referendum to return to Prohibition but everyone knows or should know if you drink you better not drive. Good rule of thumb is if you drink, make it 1 per hour to remain legal and sober enough. Sober more important than legal.

That is the hard part because those top 5 (I heard the Big 6 is down to Gang of 5 with Big East shown the door) will not only pick over one from themselves to get to 4, but pick over the best of the rest.

There are rivalries outside of conferences. Texas – OU was a long standing rivalry long before the Big 12.

Major college football is becoming more like the NFL when it comes to third down and long. You can't expect to run for more than 3-4 yards and you can't expect to catch and run for more than 5-6. If it is 3rd and 10 you have to throw the ball 10 yards. Anything less and get the punt team ready.

Anyone watch the Mean Green Insider this season? Mac says the same thing in the weekly interviews for the show. He does not believe in "moral victories."

Todd Dodge 2006-2010 (fired October 20, 2010) Overall record: 6-37 .139 Conference record: 3-23 .115 As with any coach I am willing to give him one full recruiting cycle (4 years) to turn things around. You also have to look at the way the team is playing year to year. It just didn't look like there were many positives year to year with Dodge. With McCarney, I am seeing improved play from last year. I expect (as I am sure he does as well) to see improved play next year. Does that translate to a winning season? One can hope.

I think a lot of us could use therapy because of this school (not just football or basketball). McCarney is getting a real chance here and to a point we are all willing to suffer through some painful seasons. You want to read posts by bipolar fans, go read the basketball forum. Scary.

This is just the start. The Big 6 conferences will dwindle down to Big 4 with 16 teams each. So there is still some savaging to be done from the non-big 6 conferences.

I am going to enjoy watching the championship game for a change. I really like ND and Alabama. That's ok. I expect a few minuses for this post.

I hate the 6 win to AQ when the schedules expanded to 12 and 13 games. Go to a bowl game with a .500 record or worse? It doesn't help that almost 50% of the schools go to bowl games. How many are there now? 52? 55? Would upping the requirement to 7 wins create a void? As a fan I would not be very interested in going to a bowl game with a .500 or less team.

I am interested in attending. I am actually off work the 31st and 1st. Not to poison this thread but I think almost everyone here is close to needing a therapist because of this team. "I am sensing a lot of hostility and anger from you...." Under achievement makes everyone more angry than just a flat out bad team.
