What was the bat doing in the Pit?
Eagle since birth replied to marc_moffitt's topic in Mean Green Basketball
Bats have always been in the superpit . . . they just rarely make appearances . . . I guarantee you he's not the only one up there . . . I believe I heard a story of a bat landing on a chancellor's head at a commencement one year . . . -
I saw Dickey a couple of times, but I believe the question we are all wondering is . . . was the Diet Coke guy there? (is he still on scholarship?)

So North Texas DOES recruit Denton players

I was on the sidelines while both the moss boys played, and I have to say Jarvis was a much better player than Chris was. Also Jarvis plays at Florida not FSU. -
I got my battle flag at Voertman's . . .

Should NBA - MLB Champions be called
Eagle since birth replied to El Paso Eagle's topic in Mean Green Football
However, all of the world comes to play in our leagues . . . so if you win in the mlb or nba you should be the world champions. USA might be lacking as of lately in international competition, but everyone still comes here because they know it is the top stage to play. -

Where are the Dallas Maverick Faithfull?
Eagle since birth replied to FirefightnRick's topic in Mean Green Football
There was no foul on the last play D Wade wasn't touched . . . Josh Howard more than likely didn't call that timeout, probably just verbally said timeout when asking Avery. Of course the timeout is going to come after the 2nd shot. He may be young, but has enough game knowledge not to do that . . . Free throws Miami 49 Dallas 25, the same amount as Wade. So don't be mad at Dallas be mad at Bennett Salvatore, Joe Crawford, Joe Derosa, and David Stern . . . -
Where did you get that shirt . . . the one in the last picture?

Eagle since birth replied to PlummMeanGreen's topic in Mean Green Football
Anywhere in Denton or surrounding towns . . . Just getting the word out is a big part of this. -
I have heard that they are currently working on getting more chapters, they hired someone for 'chapter development' . . . most of the nt exes money is spent on student scholarships, so it's put to good use.

The Definitive Denton Restaurant Thread
Eagle since birth replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
I can't believe this thread has gone this long with no mention of Mi Casita . . . great stuff. I also love: Sweetwater El Guapo's New York Subway Hooya . . . etc . . . etc . . . I definitely miss Texas Pickup, that was one of my favorite restaurants in town. -

I was down on the field for a lot of those games . . . and there were some amazing times, sad to see him leave. I knew he had been dealing with a lot off the field, just didn't know how much. -
Worst NT Mean Green FB Promo Idea Ever!
Eagle since birth replied to PlummMeanGreen's topic in Mean Green Football
I personally really like this idea. Even something as simple as Mean Green on the front in the new font then either the new eagle or just the eagle head . . . Hopefully there is a Mean Green alum out there that would help us get this started, and maybe give us a break on the costs . . . -
Wow . . . I really hope that is sarcasm . . . that's really all I can say right now . . . Wow . . .

I thought this would have already been posted . . . any opinions on Van Horn? DALLAS -- The ever-tinkering Dallas Mavericks made a surprising move to bolster their rotation Thursday, getting Keith Van Horn from the Milwaukee Bucks for Alan Henderson, Calvin Booth and cash. "I think we need to stretch defenses," Dallas coach Don Nelson said. "If we're going to have to play Phoenix, Seattle and other high-scoring teams, he's going to be nice to have. ... I don't know if you can ever talk about titles, but I think he gives us a better shot than we had before." Moving Van Horn, in addition to the trade of Mike James to Houston earlier Thursday, removes nearly $13 million in salary-cap obligations from the Bucks' payroll next season. The Bucks made the moves in anticipation of presenting free agent-to-be Michael Redd with a contract offer sufficiently lucrative to convince Redd to spurn advances from his home-state Cleveland Cavaliers and stay in Milwaukee. "I think what we've established is that Michael is a piece to building a championship team," Bucks general manager Larry Harris said. "He has a skill that is unmatched (except) by maybe four or five players in the league." When healthy, Van Horn would provide Dallas with another scorer, perhaps when star Dirk Nowitzki rests or even alongside him at small forward. Coach Don Nelson loves trying to create mismatches, so he might even pair the two perimeter-oriented big men at center and power forward. Problem is, Van Horn isn't always healthy. He's missed 19 games this season because of tendinitis in his right ankle and has been hobbled often in his 10-year career. Milwaukee has mostly limited him to fewer than 20 minutes per game since he came off the injured list in January. In addition to his lessened role, the Bucks were willing to give him up for salary-cap reasons. He's due nearly $16 million next season, while Henderson becomes a free agent and Booth is owed a little more than $6 million; Booth also gets a small raise the next season. Dallas acquired Henderson and Booth over the summer, with Henderson basically a throw-in on a deal with Atlanta after he played just six games last season. He wound up becoming a key part of the team's rotation -- he was the only Mavericks player to appear in all 52 games so far this season. The timing is a bit awkward for the Mavericks because center Erick Dampier just went on the injured list with a stress fracture in his right foot and Henderson started in his place the last two games. Booth's role had increased, too. Dallas had no choice, though, because Thursday was the trade deadline.

Who was the MVP of the Denver game?
Eagle since birth replied to Coach's topic in Mean Green Basketball
I ended up picking Simpson, although he had to spend time on the bench because of foul trouble. When he was in the game his presence was known. Great game for him.
