  1. I still think it was a good trade. Gave up nothing to get him, don't have to carry the large salary, and we saddle the Angels with a big salary for nothing in return. If he only plays in a third of the games, the trade was still good. We don't need him to play like an MVP, so it works fine for me.
  2. That was an ugly injury. I hate to see a guy go down that way.
  3. I understand simple math. I am saying that there is more to these deals than just simple math. You can't just look at the top line number and assume that it is a better deal. Let me put it to you this way. Company X gets a $400M partnership with Company Z starting in 2 years. Company Y gets a $500M partnership with Company Z starting next year. Who got the better deal? Answer: you cannot make that determination strictly from the numbers provided because there are many more terms and conditions that you don't know from the two numbers provided.
  4. Not sure how everything a bunch of people discuss on a message board is reflective of the AD. But assuming you are correct, then no program in the country is in good shape.
  5. Fair enough, but there are a lot of details we just don't know, that is my point. We are so quick to point at other teams and lament that they did better when we have no idea the details of the deal and whether it is better than what we have done. Did RV ask these? Not sure how my pontificating on whether getting $150k more than we did is actually a better deal means that the program is in some kind of danger. And yes, details matter.
  6. Are they flying or taking a bus? That makes a big difference. Are they going to need a hotel stay for the night? Do we? These are details that are not stated in the single numbers provided that give context. Not saying they didn't get a better deal, just saying that we have no idea if they did.
  7. Would ULM have higher travel costs that would increase the total cost? Could it be that we are, at the end of expense, getting the same amount as ULM? Or should we just assume the worst without the details? Not sure why I am asking that last one since that is what we are obviously doing.
  8. Sure, just another step towards banning it entirely. Your socialist, leftist, pinko, commie, Marxist agenda will never come to pass. NEEDLEPOINT IS FREEDOM!
  9. Yeah, no DBs in coverage. Really want to make the QB beat us with his arm.
  10. Works the same as in college, spot foul inside 15 yards, 15 yard penalty outside of 15 yards.
  11. I think we all know this is a lie. You have repeatedly shown bias towards crochet. You are trying to cover up your secret mission to outlaw needlepoint and I, for one, wont stand for it.
  12. Because I posted a Weird Al video? How did that leap in logic occur? Did you have a communications class in your core curriculum? You certainly didn't have debate.
  13. I am going to the Baylor - SMU game. My Baylor grad friend also commented about not travelling well, so I am not expecting a sell out, just a well attended game.
  14. I don't usually pick records, so not sure why I am doing so now with a team with so many question marks, but here I go. I am in the 5-7 camp. I would love to pick more, but I am not seeing how we get there. Maybe after we get a few games under our belt I can feel better about the team, but I just don't see a 2+ win swing this year. I hope to be proven very wrong.
  15. Because not talking about problems makes them go away? I guess we can stop talking about a lot of things.
  16. So a black market doesn't exist for things that aren't vices? The determined and/or criminally minded who want things that are illegal get them. There is a black market for non-low flow toilets.
  17. His dad got fired and he transferred after the season. Not sure that it was bad terms, but he didn't want to stick around after his dad was fired. He did graduate from McNeese State.
  18. Not sure why I need to settle down. Just asking questions to dissect your theory that prohibition automatically does work.
  19. So only things that could be vices have ever been outlawed?
