  1. Say it ain't so!
  2. Most schools don't put their full name on their helmet. I have always thought it looked a little wierd. TU just has a longhorn on the side, and it doesn't keep people from knowing who they are. We should be looking for something simple and recognizable. I like the interlocking NT, I think that the "official" stuff is nice, but we (especially on this board) shouldn't be bound to it. That said, this is probably just talk, because TD is likely to go with the official logos (if anything changes at all).
  3. If we all work together on this one, we can make it the longest thread ever! C'mon people, let's make it happen!! If we do a little research and hard work, why don't we look into which uniforms were the most successful. Does the color of our road jersey have an impact? The color of the facemask, did that make a difference in the win/loss column? I say we go with the uniforms that will mean VICTORY!!!!!
  4. Absolutely correct. I haven't even watched most of the games. Every time I turn on a bowl, it is already out of hand and I have no desire to keep watching a lop-sided victory. On a related note, the MUTS got killed, and by a MAC team no less.
  5. I hate to be split hairs here, but was it a plasma, or an LCD? It can't be both. (sometimes I am too much of a technology nut for my own good.) I also got an HDTV. 42" Sharp Aquos 1080p LCD. It makes me emotional.
  6. The real hope here shouldn't be to get away from these type oponents, it should be to play them as equals and not get paid for it.
  7. This is a BIG dream. Removing Nebraska from the Big XII would be comprable to removing T.O.'s head from his @$$; impossible. They have been there since the Big IIX, and I don't think that's gonna happen. You'd have better luck if you just changed the names of the conferences. Not that this would happen, though it does look to be a good idea.
  8. Emmitt, last time I checked, the Green Team members aren't the ones doing the talking. But we do seem to be the only ones with something to say.
  9. Ok, time for someone else to speak up for the Green Team. First off, let us put aside false boasts. This is all hot air, which is why only the White Team has had much to say. I only deal in fact. 1. Green Team drafted Quarterbacks, White Team did not, realizing after the fact "Oops, we might need someone to throw the ball." This will be in direct correlation to the game, "Oops, we might need someone to catch the ball." 2. You guys are all talking about speed and *ahem* anatomy (which I hope will not be a factor). I doubt that you could cover us with a blanket. 3. Lastly, and I belive most importantly, you chose the wrong brother. UNTFan23 in response to me? I know most of you don't know, but c'mon. Really? This is the lack of balance that will cost you dearly. I didn't think that one pick would make such a difference, but it did. Guess we all get to be wrong every once in awhile, just like the White Team is about winning.
  10. I am now declaring myself eligable for the draft. Bio: Name - Jason Hiatt Height - 6'2" Weight - 150 or so (I don't keep track) I would give a short list of all my abilities, but as a first timer, I think that actions should speak louder than words. Jersey - forevereagle (j-hi if that's too long) Size - L
  11. I hate to say it, but I am getting really tired of hearing about the stupid squirrel. This is getting out of hand. We are not the UNT Albino Squirrels, but that seems to get more attention on campus than anything else. Its just an animal that is not truely equipped to survive in the real world. I guess the world loves an underdog.
  12. I think that the 7-3 is the most realistic. If we win, it is going to be because our defense made it happen, not the offense. My prediction: UNT 6 FIU 7 I haven't seen enough from our offense to give me any kind of real hope to win.
  13. Any spot on a national list is great for the athletics program. Way to go girls!
  14. Nothing like a brother-in-law to back me up. Seriously though, I'd like to hear someone answer my question. I know Covington's got some speed, and it just seems to me that he'd be able to keep up with the WR a bit better than DD is giving him credit for. P.S. I'm still fairly new to the football thing. If you really want to talk sports, talk to me about baseball. Oops! I'm still logged on as my husband... but this is really untgirl talking.
  15. Here's the thing that isn't being mentioned. DD has had four consecutive winning seasons, yes. The real question is: in that time, why haven't we gotten better? Louisville has had a string of winning seasons and has become a team to model your program after. Boise State has put together a winning tradition and gotten to a point that BCS schools don't want to play them. Utah, even after losing their coach, is still a team that will see a winning season after that fact. That is an accomplishment that a lot of big time programs can only get. TCU has gone up, and has become a team, while inconsistent at this point, that BCS teams are going to be wary to schedule. If DD is this amazing coach, why haven't we seen any results even close to this? These teams have all gone out and begun to win against teams that are top tier and are beginning to be feared by these teams. We don't even really scare our conference anymore. With a winning tradition, shouldn't we have started that trend a year or two ago? I'm not saying that we should be feared by TU or OU or anything like that, but shouldn't we be able to, at least, give them something resembling a game? And eulesseagle, btw, the color of someone's hair shouldn't come into factor, nor is it an indicator of their intelligence. Just because you have a differeing opinion does not mean that you need to be petty. Make your point in a civil manner. We are all Mean Green fans here.
  16. I believe the number for 2004 was nearer to 300.
