Most Disappointing Recruiter
forevereagle replied to TheReal_jayD's topic in UNT Football Recruiting
Do the coaches recruit their position or is it geography based? -
Banking on making the playoff was stupid, if that was the plan. There is absolutely no reason that any team should make that part of their planning for the future. UH was not easily a top 4 team. They may have been able to get into Cotton Bowl had they played better, but I don't see how they can be claimed as a top 4 team. It was obvious that Herman's constant involvement with openings or potential openings caused a lack of focus and lead to losses.

You can, but high on the good stuff would probably be as, if not more, accurate.

To clarify, the good news is that others suck at least as much, if not more than we do.

Some Army fans are claiming revenge for....

Out of curiosity, how would THEIR honor code dictate OUR behavior? This cannot possibly be the first time another team has celebrated during their alma mater. They must not like a lot of teams. -
I didn't fail to grasp anything. You are looking at a single game and declaring that because ONE other team in the conference beat the team that beat us, badly, that it means that we will not be able to play teams close. Our record is absolutely a concern and losing like we did is a concern, but we have a lot of new faces on this team and it takes time to gel. I am not going to declare the season over and that we will be blown out by most of the teams in the conference on such a limited data set. I think we agree on what competitive means, just not that this one game and a different result for one team means that we will struggle to be competitive in the conference. There is just too little information and a lot of time before I am ready to have much of an opinion on how this team will do. I don't believe that there are that many good teams in the conference to determine already that we will struggle to play them close.

Because one team beat a team that we lost to, all of CUSA is somehow better than us? I don't really understand this logic. It would appear that we have a ways to go before we are competitive with the top of CUSA, but there is no way that this loss has any indication of how we will perform with the conference at large unless they all beat Indiana by double digits.

I didn't have any trouble getting it to work for me and I got 793 MGC members from the website with my quick method. Not sure if this is different from yours, but it is the 2015 data that is on the site. In case you are curious... Do we know if the website is up to date? -
This idea assumes that there is only one reason that anyone would ever move; to play football at a better school. Life is not that simple and to treat it this way would be to the detriment to many kid's futures. If you don't play varsity, your chances of ever playing in college diminish greatly. There are probably other ways to address this that don't tie a family to a residence for six years.

I think the CFP may need to look at the situation with Navy and just make a call. If they think Navy belongs in the New Year's bowls, then select them ahead of the Army-Navy game and let the chips fall where they might. Grinding everything to a halt like that would be bad for everyone. But I guess there is little history of college football considering the greater good, so they will probably just allow chaos to reign.
