  1. The problem with major gun control is that it can become too difficult for regular people to get guns. Anyone who is looking for a gun for the wrong reasons will be able to get one. Law abiding citizens can't, and are then left defenseless.
  2. Ok, I'll play. I was born and raised in Ft. Worth, so I support all local teams. NFL: Cowboys. MLB: Rangers (sadly), and I also root for the Cats when I get the chance. NBA: Mavs. When I watch, which isn't often. NHL: Stars. Same story as basketball. Used to go to Ft. Worth Fire games when I was younger. Soccer: Don't watch, don't care. College: UNT first, Nebraska second. Both of my parents went to Nebraska, and I grew up watching Husker football. It is hard to give up something you have watched that long.
  3. Unfortunately, we still have room to fall.
  4. I don't think that there is a set way to do this. Something that may work is to pick a bad team in the conference you want, and help make them worse. The worst team in the conference usually swicthes places with you. In a past version of the game, I was able to replace Iowa State in the Big 12.
  5. I would probably buy a couple bricks. One for me, one for the wife. They might even make for a really nice gift if you know any other NT grads.
  6. Or the results are the opinions of the people who choose to reply. Self selection bias is a nasty thing. Only those with strong opinions tend to respond to these types of polls.
  7. And Arkansas almost lost to a AA team. UT made them look bad. They are in the SEC with a fairly well-known program. By those standards, their season is going pretty bad, too. I think that the same arguement could be made by their fans. I am not saying that this is a valid excuse, but Arkansas is not the best example.
  8. I am with you. I, personally, love breasts and think that they should be saved.
  9. From the main page: Most users ever online was 224 on Aug 4 2005, 05:55 PM
  10. It may be that time so that it can be announced in the pregame. Purely speculation on my part.
  11. Saw it my own eyes.
  12. At least she doesn't wear a UT jersey to a home game like some on this board *cough* playmaker *cough*.
  13. I don't take late notice as bad. If this passed, and they give the no side a chance to contest and they don't, then this goes through. Maybe we play it by the book to make sure it sticks. We will have to wait and see.
  14. I suggest that he needs to be recognized even if it doesn't pass. What he has done for this program is nothing short of amazing, and incredible. Thanks Flyer!
  15. There are people who know right now, but apparently, they ain't talkin'. I am cautiously optimistic.
  16. You have to love plummer. He's no Joe the Plumber, but he's ours and we love him.
  17. It is finished.
  18. With the number of votes that we are dealing with, I don't think that is very likely.
  19. I agree. This is vote tampering. This like standing in a voting booth with someone. Glad to see that the oposition has such high moral standards.
  20. It is a great idea if you are trying to help your students get more financial aid. The problem is that is not the goal. They are, admittedly, trying to improve their ranking by third parties. They want to improve the university's rating by changing the results. We don't allow this type of behavior in almost every competition. Let's try a sports analogy. When Ohio State lost to USC, they dropped in the rankings. What if they were allowed to pay for more opportunity to score to bring the final closer so they didn't fall as far in the ranking. The outcome wouldn't be affected, just the score. Would that be ok? In this case, the score has already been registered and the students were admitted. Now they want to change the score to make the school look like it has higher overall scores.
  21. Maybe not illegal, but unethical. Whether it is legal or not, the ranking system should ignore the improved results. Paying to make your results look better doesn't mean you are.
  22. And that is the ONLY reason that we are not there.
  23. I don't think we define first-year coach the same way. June Jones has been doing this for a long time, just not at SMU.
