  1. GreenMachine, Any money spent helps the economy. It is basic macro economics. To get the economy moving again, money needs to be changing hands. You may not agree with how the money is being spent, but the fact that it is being spent helps. The more money changing hands, the stronger the economy. Many of these expenditures go towards helping create, or simply maintain, jobs. As I stated earlier, neither side is correct and we are all arguing about something that we can do nothing about. Try complaining to your Senator about what is going on. He or she will listen to you and then turn around and make their own decision. That is the way of the world. For what it is worth, I am going to give everyone a nugget of wisdom. Telling someone else that they are wrong because theu disagree with you negates your own opinion.
  2. Why does it have to be this way? Why can't we all agree that ALL POLITICIANS ARE EVIL?!?! Really, the hate that keeps flying around here gets old. Neither side is doing it right. Obama is not the Socialist that some claim he is. On the other side Bush is not Satan. This arguement is getting really freaking old. Why is it that the winning side always says (yes, always) "Now we have a leader, let's all get behind him." Why is it, when the same side loses, they can't take their own advice? I am really tired of everyone claiming that because Bush is out, the world will come to an end. If I recall, the Republican supporters all blamed Clinton for his weak stance against terrorism after 9-11, so this isn't exactly news. Not sure why you are surprised that the Democrats are blaming Bush for the economy.
  3. Which brings me to my second point, kids. Don't do crack.
  4. I am also excited about this recruiting class. The way Dodge and company have come on at the end here has been great. If Dodge can recruit this well after the season we had, what could he be capable of if we have a great season? I am optimistic about improvement on the field this year, but not too optimistic.
  5. "Thanks Troy" just doesn't have the same ring to it.
  6. I don't know that it is by two scores, but Arizona has continued to surprise. I knew after the Carolina game that they were poised to go all the way. With the Pittsburgh D being what it is, I don't believe that the Cards will be able to get up enough to win by double digits. I see this as a 4 point game.
  7. Objection: Misinterpreted. I was insinuating that we have no idea if the guy even cares about a music scene. Just because he plays music doesn't mean that he wants to go out every night and listen to someone else. So we have no idea if the presence or lack thereof had any impact on his decision. That is what I get for making offhand remarks...
  8. Objection: Speculative.
  9. Have you ever been to a game in Fouts at 3pm? We had a lot games with a 3pm kickoff while I was a student, and the student side is a cookout. I was very pleased when they started pushing back game time so I could actually enjoy the games instead of getting dehydrated at the end of the first quarter.
  10. As long as we are honest about what we feel is likely to be accomplished. I have just gotten used to the fact that we are going to have players overlooked every year. If we have talent, then it is very likely that they are not going to be recognized. That is the reality of college football.
  11. Do you think it will help?
  12. You mean a player from a 1-11 team got overlooked? I refuse to believe that this is even possible. I'm sure that Washington and WSU are outraged as well. Come on people, this is nothing new. Let's just hope that his stat line gets him an invite to the combine so he can get a shot.
  13. Sorry, just wishful thinking...
  14. Oh no, this might mean that we are a young team and our season could be gone before it even starts. How can we expect to win with that many freshman playing?
  15. I wish we would just release this phrase from our lexicon. It is like the classic Star Wars line, "I got a bad feeling about this." After somebody says it, something bad happens.
  16. There may be a disconnect between concept and reality. The wonders of CG are at work here. I wouldn't be too excited about this just yet. Sony is notorious about making promises that either never come about, or that are not available until much later. Look at the PS3 and Blu-Ray. Home for the PS3 was something that was promised from the beginning, but still has not been released. Blu-Ray was promised to be able to hold enormous amounts of data through having 8+ layers of data. Depsite that promise, they have yet to make good and we have Blu-Ray movies with two discs. They also touted features that would be available, but are still unavailable, or just now hitting the shelf. The quality is there, but they have just made promises that they were unprepared to deliver.
  17. We also had a pretty good center. He definately had the D1 size that we need. Again, I go back to off the field issues. The DT you refer to, as I recall, liked to "Par-tey." We have had enough problems off the field, I don't know that we need anymore problems.
  18. I have done this, and it does work pretty well. By the end of a game, I feel just as whipped by hearing the fight song and Fly Like an Eagle way too many times. As far as I am aware, they still sell the CD and it has some very useful songs for the game. I don't think that the drum cadence is on there, though.
  19. I am not sure that would be the best idea. As I recall, that team had some off the field issues, getting into assault and battery issues. We don't need that kind of pub.
  20. Are you new or something? Skip over some posts? This is not new here.
  21. Just like everybody else.
  22. There can be only one.
  23. Do we really need to keep doing this? Really? We had a bad season, and our team is young. This isn't quite the excuse that we wish it was, but we don't need to continue the argument between the two extremes. Can we all agree that the bad seasons were a mix a young team and inexperienced coaches? This is not a very good place to be, but here we are. I am getting really tired of these arguments. Nobody is making new points, and everyone wants to continue fighting about it. STOP THE INSANITY!
