Typically an interim coach is already on staff. They would need to hire from within since all of these positions are filled, or have not been on the books for 30 days either. Besides, I don't think that we need to try to work the system and get ourselves in trouble, we have plenty of that already.

Yeah, we competed, but not well enough to win. We competed for 3 quarters, and let the other guys win it in the 4th (sometimes in the first). To be competitive is not enough for me, we should be able to win games. I don't know of another school where competitive is good enough after 3 seasons.

It is a technicality that prevents a new coach from recruiting and running practices as well as other duties of the position. It is an issue the prevents them from doing the job.

Actually, I think the longer it takes, the better it is for Dodge. The position has to stay open for 30 days, so the longer there is no announcement, the longer we go without being able to hire a new coach and the more likely we will just have to stick with what we have.

Really? The same mistakes? Which are? Tune didn't throw a pick against Bama, easily the best team we played. Riley has managed to do it in almost every game he has played. I don't see how he is making the same mistakes. He is not perfect, but he is not making the same mistakes. He takes care of the ball much better and knows how to throw the ball away.

That was not my point. My point was that taking consolation in almost wins and harping on that is not a worthwhile discussion. This is absolutely a coaching and player problem.
