  1. So many about to be like...
  2. I agree with the spirit of what you are saying here, but at the same time, all words have an assigned meaning. The assigned meaning, strength and context of these words lend themselves to be viewed as inappropriate and generally not accepted. That is the norm of our culture and the language. Personally, if the students want to chant profanity in unison, I won't participate, but that's not a big deal to me. Just keep it out of the Fight Song.
  3. Not having a team before is not an excuse for acting the way that was described. I didn't had that experience when I went to the last game, but if that is the experience that he had, then that is unacceptable.
  4. What is this, the SEC?
  5. I mean, listen, we're talking about practice helmets, not a game, not a game, not a game, we talking about practice helmets.
  6. The same DMA. For TV purposes, it all the same.
  7. DVR views of programs count, but only if it is actually viewed within a period of time after (1 week I believe). So just recording it doesn't help, one must actually watch.
  8. Besides, post season is what really matters.
  9. The concept of FCS/FBS does not exist in basketball. D1 is D1, no break, no way out of sitting for a year.
  10. There is a value to the program, but if the ticket has no value to the individual, they may not show up. I gave nothing to get the ticket, thus I lose nothing by not redeeming it. Actual attendance did not increase, no additional revenue was generated, and that seat is not available to sell to someone else. We didn't gain anything. This is not the Cowboys, who can give away a ticket and people know that they got really lucky to get the ticket because it is very valuable. We don't have that value attached, so people don't care if they show up or not. In fact, there is possible long term damage as that person may only attend again if the ticket is free then as well since we have effectively told them that the ticket has no value. That would be damaging to the program.
  11. Doesn't matter in basketball.
  12. I could see having a single EV for commuting and local travel and a second gas vehicle for longer drives. It will be interesting to see how the auto industry pivots around this in the coming years, but right now, they are just not practical for a lot of people. Also, 200 miles plus on a charge is pretty standard for EVs these days.
  13. They did at one point, but that was several years ago (still in Fouts) and they lifted the ban after people complained. We brought them in last year with no one batting an eye.
  14. I am thrilled that we are about to have the same discussion re-framed as if there is something new to say.
  15. English - Prove this man wrong. Young - Prove this man right.
  16. Actually, Vietnam had nothing to do with communism. It was a French colony that they needed help in keeping under control. If we had stayed out of the conflict, there were plans for Vietnam to become more of a democracy. Our involvement changed the minds of the people and they went the other way. Vietnam was about preserving imperialism, not stopping the spread of communism.
  17. And if he is successful, he would be the outlier.
  18. I agree and hope that if that becomes the case, we tell them they are just not worth it and we don't need them to broadcast our games. I doubt that the payout will outweigh the loss of ticket sales.
