I honestly wonder if animated stuff would violate some rule.

How Many MORE Games Do You Expect To Win?
oldguystudent replied to Cerebus's topic in Mean Green Football
Seven plus retroactive forfeitures by SMU, Florida, and MUTS. -
I mean, if you REALLY want to put something on the scoreboard that will distract a kicker:

One improvement I would like to see on defense
oldguystudent replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
I've always been unclear on the definition of pass interference, so I looked it up: Illegal Contact and Pass Interference ARTICLE 8. A. During a down in which a legal forward pass crosses the neutral zone, successful defense of the pass by any North Texas player is prohibited from the time the ball is snapped until it is touched by any player or official (A.R. 7-3-8-II) b. Offensive pass interference by a North Texas player beyond the neutral zone during a legal forward pass play in which a forward pass crosses the neutral zone is any North Texas player successfully catching the pass or interfering with the opposing defensive player intercepting the ball. c. Defensive pass interference is successful defense by any North Texas player whose intent is obviously to defend the play and prohibit the other team from scoring. When in question, any pass thrown while North Texas is on defense is catchable. Vicinity to players, the field, the interior of the stadium, city limits, county boundaries, state lines, and international borders are irrelevant while North Texas is on defense. The ball is catchable, and should the offensive player fail to complete the pass, North Texas shall receive a defensive pass interference penalty of 15 yards even if North Texas isn't playing in that particular game. So much ado about nothing. This isn't a symbol or a voice or a representative of the university. It's a football scale bit like the giant Kim Il Sung heads that used to loiter behind the baskets in the Super Pit. I saw it, I was amused, didn't think much else of it.

The albino squirrel was everywhere when I was in school. The coffee stand in Willis Library was either named after him or featured some prominent drink that was named after him.

You've never known of the vaunted albino squirrel of UNT? That thing is EVERYWHERE! Some say it lives within us all.

I've had them harass me when I was simply walking around the lower bowl between the upper and lower levels on my way out to my car. I generally just kinda look down at my big shiny ticket around my neck, look back up at them, smirk, and keep walking. Like, this isn't even entering any seating area. It's walking. On a walkway. Not loitering, not speaking, not engaging in any interference with the fans or the game. Just...walking...to...my....car. Hasn't happened this season, so this is past experience. No idea what they're like today, but I've little faith in improvement on that one.

I don't much go to MLB games anymore at all. The last time I paid for an MLB ticket was in 2011 for a San Francisco game while I was visiting. Their ticket purchase process made me weep for the future. Every seat for every game was a live action auction. As in, there were no set prices (at least not for single game tickets). You had to bid and hope to god you could get a seat. Given that process, it doesn't matter too terribly much if a stadium holds 5 people or 5 million people. Supply and demand will deliver one hell of an equilibrium. As for baseball in a dome, I've never experienced such a thing. I am hypothetically sworn against such blasphemy. But I also know I've refused free tickets to Rangers games before because I've been there in the summer and have no desire to ever experience that again. Like ever. Not even if you put me in the naked Swedish bikini suite with forty gallons of beer on tap and cheesecake for days. Nonetheless, MLB is already too rich for my blood. I haven't paid for a ticket at a Rangers game since about 2007. Raise the prices further, and I doubt I ever will. Same goes for the Cowboys and the NFL.

Needs banana for scale though.

MTSU Game Postgame Presser with Littrell
oldguystudent replied to UNT 90 Grad's topic in Mean Green Football
He was visibly annoyed with the armchair coaching, but he handled it well. -
Kicking somebody when they're down is the easy path. I owe a great debt of gratitude to David. We most certainly don't see eye to eye on many things, but because we're not twelve, we're able to see the good in each other. He is a good person. Of that I will stand firm no matter what. It's a new era. Enjoy it. And know we're all ultimately in this together. Go Mean Green -- All of us.

The latest lines I saw before game time were 16, so we didn't cover. But damn, Vegas is good.

Hope you had a reasonably good time today. Admire your passion.

This is where our expectations should be tempered
oldguystudent replied to MGNation92's topic in Mean Green Football
I was actually encouraged in defeat tonight. Even without the execution. This is a different team with a different mentality. I saw the recruits on the sideline tonight, and that tells me Littrell is out there pounding pavement and building this thing. -
First impression -- Holy crikey! He's like 15 feet tall! Overall impression -- I'm encouraged. I'll just leave it at that.

In 2013, you could count on one thing -- the opposing team was going to be gasping for air in the fourth quarter because we would wear them down. Right now, the team gasping for air is us. I'm ok with tonight though. MUTS is bigger, stronger, faster, and they've got one hell of a wily quarterback. He was making at least two fake moves per play, even long after he'd handed off the ball. My most hated moment was that fake going for it on fourth down, forcing us to take a timeout, then they punted to nobody. Stockstill played us like a fiddle on that, and I found it concerning. My prediction for final record right now is either 4-8 or 5-7. I think we get to a bowl next year.

Results of Apogee Stadium Fan Survey Released
oldguystudent replied to NTAlum09's topic in Mean Green Football
Ref mics worked. No broken pixels on the scoreboard. My only remaining bent is the bottleneck getting into the parking lot. Took FOREVER. Too many cars driving in one lane getting into four different parking lots. Every time somebody turned in, it stopped traffic. For the green/white and red/blue lots, it's a left turn against oncoming traffic. I don't have a viable solution since the bridge to the old other entrance to red/blue is out of commission. Just gonna have to accept it and wait it out I suppose. -
Seating?
oldguystudent replied to Mad Hatter's topic in The Eagles Nest (There Should be Pie For Everyone Forum)
Yes they would, but that section exists because the conference banned students from sitting there. -
Move forward and let it go. Stop by and try some ribs. They're really good. I'm not out there yet, but I damn guarantee he is.
