Every year we cherry pick some unlikely G5 team who's tearing it up. First one I remember was Ball St. Then there was Buffalo. Northern Illinois. June Jones Hawaii. Others have come and gone. A tough bunch of outlaws known for all kinds of off the field shenanigans that would land them in jail and the NFL in some serious hot water today, but when they hit the field, they were gonna win come hell and high water. In undergrad, our rivals beat us eight times in the four years I was there in basketball. I don't think we beat them for a few more years. But the tides turned one day, and we've been mopping the floor with them for years now. So will be the case with UNT and UTSA eventually. When it does happen, I'm gonna find Correcamino's home address and plant about seven hundred Mean Green lawn signs in his yard, or staple them to the walls of his parents' basement, as the case may be. And I'm going to really enjoy it. The only regret is that I wish our current seniors had enjoyed a little more success than 1-3 against them.
