  1. Using the Sagarin formula, which I've found crazy accurate over the years, I show UNT as a 3-point favorite at Southern Miss. FAU is a coin flip on a neutral floor with whoever the home team is being a 3-point favorite
  2. First, funny that the article goes over Dickey's entire resume except for the stint at North Texas. Second, Offensive coordinator? Wasn't he famous for three yards and a cloud of dust here? I never saw any of his teams, but from what I gather, defense won those games.
  3. Richland has the Thunderducks? Well, good sir, allow me to introduce you to the fearsome Evergreen College Geoducks!
  4. I drove by Baylor's stadium a few times over the Christmas break, and I wasn't impressed so much as I was mortified. That thing is way over the top.
  5. I can't tell you what year I last went to a basketball game. I get -1s every time I make that statement, but I don't say it because I'm angry or anything. It's just become something that I truly don't care about. I'm also not the world's biggest fan of the sport of basketball in and of itself, so that's part of the thing for me personally. All that nonsense stated, I think that's a bit more dangerous to let fans flat out stop caring than it is to make fans angry. Putting it completely out of mind is not a way to grow a fan base.
  6. There are elements on both extremes of the spectrum. There are some who are incapable of ever seeing anything good about UNT or its programs and lash out at anybody who ever says anything positive. Then there are those who are incapable of ever seeing anything negative about UNT or its programs and lash out at anybody who ever dare criticize.
  7. How 'bout the Sack N Save parking lot?
  8. The Pomona-Pitzer Sage Hens would like a word with you. The UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs would also like to enter the conversation.
  9. I did a little research. I found out how bad things are. The Trilli led North Texas teams of the Big West ran roughshod over my other alma mater.
  10. How many suits do you pack to stay home from the conference tourney?
  11. Reality of the situation: There are mostly P5 vs P5 bowls and G5 vs G5 bowls. There are so many bowls now that conference tie-ins are mostly moot as the bowls scramble to fill all their spots. Bowls with P5 vs G5 are becoming fewer and farther in between. I'm shocked! Shocked I tells ya! For the 2016 bowl season, I see the following: BYU vs. Wyoming -- Poinsettia Bowl (considering BYU a P5 is in the discretion of the viewer) Wake Forest vs Temple -- Military Bowl Baylor vs Boise St -- Cactus Bowl USF vs. South Carolina -- Birmingham Bowl W. Michigan vs Wisconsin -- Cotton Bowl So of forty bowl games, 4.5 of them pitted G5 vs P5. That's 11.25% and shrinking each year.
  12. Also, $50,000 is probably a pay cut for some of them. Zing!
  13. People paid attention in the days when UNT was in the College Insider Mid-Major top 25. I don't see much difference here. G5 are our current peers, like it or not. At the beginning of the season, we were at or very near dead last. At the end of the season, we set the median. That's measurable progress against like competition. I don't think that means the end game aspirations, but it's a great tool to see how things are moving along in present day.
  14. I did this manually and left out BYU. It was a bit difficult since the rankings in the link are bottom to top. I get 31 out of 59: If I missed something, I've got it in a table and can easily update. 1 W. 15. I've been following his predicted score differentials against the Vegas spread for quite some time. The guy is really, really good.
  16. I secure donations by kissing serious ass, getting a signature, then immediately turning to treating the donor like shit and calling him a dumbass to my wealthier donor friends. Thanks Dan. Dick.
  17. Sagarin doesn't differentiate between FBS and FCS.
  18. I always had good experiences with Jessica. Didn't she use to play volleyball for UNT? She seemed to really care about the program and customer service. I hope they can find somebody like that again.
  19. USA Today's preseason poll had us at 125, so at the very least, we've earned some modicum of respect.
  20. NAIA football and I don't see that a stadium definitely exists yet. Oh, here we go: Confirmed: Nick Saban to TWU.
  21. I got here in 2008, so it's got to be Dunbar. He was unstoppable against Sunbelt competition with a near non-existent O-Line to run through. Chancellor comes in a close second.
  22. My undergrad alma mater just sent out this thing that for $X, you are guaranteed to see the next three home wins. So you initially get tickets to the next three home games. If they win 2 and lose one, you get a ticket to a fourth game, and you continue to get free tickets indefinitely until you have seen three home wins. As thing presently stand, this would be like offering season tickets here. Then again, it could increase actual home attendance to a number with a comma.
  23. How many GMs are out there smacking themselves for not drafting him? Suckas!!!!
  24. Why? It's not like they're from Huntsville.
