  1. My daughter is about to take biology at UNT this fall. I hope that's not the curriculum. Can't I just be pissed off in the here and now?
  2. This is obviously the coup Wren Baker was after in dropping the Army games. Well played, sir. Well played.
  3. They've been pushing for those national merit scholars HEAVILY. Those kids get, and I quote, "Cadillac scholarship packages." I'm all for it.
  4. A fact can never be more stone cold than that one!
  5. Somebody give me a metric here. For example, if .300 is the gold standard for batting in baseball, what's the equivalent in APR?
  6. Wren's from Mizzou, right? Well, I'm in a Missouri state motto state of mind: Show Me
  7. Has Nathan ever spoken of his time at UNT after the fact? He had a pretty rough go of everything, so I wonder what he might be saying good or bad to his little brother.
  8. Mark my words. By 2021 Liberty will be a full member of CUSA and we'll get Tulsa'd for OOC home game scheduling.
  9. Texas has been number 1 for twenty years (I remember this very same topic on the cover of SI in the nineties), and they still can't pull out of the post Mack Brown spiral. They really should be winning national championships at everything, but they don't anymore, and I've not figured out why. (Not that I'd ever root for them..like at all)
  10. While I will continue to push for heavy recruiting and hiring of graduates from the UNT accounting program because they tend to come out hungry, hard working, lunch pail type accountants, in every other aspect, I swear to all things righteous and holy that if it involves marketing, branding, athletics, wheeling, dealing, stealing, operations, lacerations, or deciding once and for all on a single shade of green, I'm beginning to think that UNT is an acronym that somehow translates to "F it up"
  11. I remain bitter that in Lewisville between 121 and 3040, due to construction on 35E, virtually every retail and dining establishment was viciously demolished -- except that damn Olive Garden. That thing is going to be around when the apes take over.
  12. Interesting idea. I never knew that was a thing. On the pay-per-view, I'd have to subscribe to cable first, which I don't ever see myself doing.
  13. I used to watch a lot of boxing in the 70s and 80s. Then pay-per-view came along. I no longer own a home from which I could take equity loans to pay the television fees.
  14. Liberty's wiki page doesn't state what conference they'll join when they become full FBS. I'd think that CUSA and the Sun Belt would be the most likely candidates. I await their joining CUSA before the 2021 game and Tulsa'ing us on the home schedule.
  15. To be fair, I did turn down employment that paid less than the benefits I was receiving a couple of times. It didn't make economic sense, and I had a very young child with well child pediatrician visits to consider. Took me about nine months to find a job that would cover the rent and offer insurance.
  16. We're still playing Army at home this coming season. 2018 was a road game at Army. Not making apologist statements here. Just facts of what was actually lost.
  17. I got laid off after 9/11 when my daughter was 103 days old. I got WIC, unemployment, medicaid, and state funded vocational training. Thank the sweet baby Jeebus that I'm black.
  18. Well, I was gonna wish for an end to disease and sickness, but then I wouldn't be able to watch football.
  19. Liberty is under a "Must host 3 FBS games" mandate for 2018. We're the first to sign on (I'm SHOCKED! SHOCKED!). But I bet we got a pretty sweet deal on it since they're desperate to schedule games.
  20. This was on the Ticket this afternoon. They portrayed it as UNT basketball players soliciting sex from students. No Baylor comparisons, so we got that goin' for us, which is nice.
  21. Well that was easy. That wasn't there yesterday. Thanks!
  22. Somebody tell me how to get this going through my Roku 1. There is apparently no twitter app for Roku, but there appear to be some workarounds.
  23. You know better than I do, but I'm pretty sure I've read that the reach of university police is much broader than most suspect due to that whole state agency thing. How much of that goes into practice, I have no idea. They're mighty fine at writing parking tickets. That's all I really know.
  24. Good God. So we've got Incarnate Word and Liberty in 2018. Assuming we win both, will only one count toward bowl eligibility? Will this scheduling shit EVER get better?
  25. There is a bad, terrible joke about lay-ups somewhere in here.
