  1. You probably bet $110 to win $100.
  2. Why the hell is that so easy and every online poker site ever is impossible to play and cash out from the US? Over the years, I've often wondered if the real money to be made in sportsbook was by researching and better on mid-majors in football and basketball that might have skewed lines because the national handcappers don't know or don't care.
  3. One of the best played. One of the reasons I fell in love with college baseball. Exponentially more true in college than MLB that it really ain't over til it's over.
  4. We're into the round of 16 in college baseball. As usual, the SEC owns everything. Teams by conference: SEC -- 6 ACC -- 3 Big West -- 2 Pac 12 -- 1 Southland -- 1 Atlantic 10 -- 1 Big XII -- 1 Missouri Valley -- 1 Local Darling TCU is a national seed and will host Missouri State in Forth Worth for a best 2 of 3 series to move on to the College World Series in Omaha.
  5. I was driving and have no idea how to do so.
  6. What year are those stats from? Kansas was 2-10 including a win over Texas which we must never forget.
  7. Did anybody else hear Norm mock UNT about this on the ticket yesterday? "THAT school is paying a MILLION dollars to their football coach? Where is THAT school getting THAT kind of money?" Then somebody else quipped it was from the money saved on George not calling games anymore. Basically just the whole notion of UNT even having a football team was the most ridiculous thing ever. Then they moved on to some other topic.
  8. I think you transposed a Roman Numeral there @Brett Vito While I wouldn't guarantee it, and I'm kinda past bothering to argue for prioritizing a baseball program, the notion that it's a "stretch" that they would be good quickly is, in my humble opinion, incorrect. The only real obstacle to that with a good coaching staff, a good stadium, the state of Texas, and membership in CUSA would be the intangible curse of it simply being UNT. I can go on and cite a great number of programs that have started this century and met significant success in under ten years.
  9. The college football arms race is amazing to me. Not directed at any school or person. Just an observation of the intense increase in spending over the past 25 years. I'm kinda surprised that those schools who ultimately dropped football tended to do so in the nineties before things even really began to get expensive. I'd suppose all remaining are in it for the long haul.
  10. So..we could Tulsa'd Tulsa?
  11. If Littrell could take the team he inherited from 1-11 to 5-8 (one overtime drive away from 6-7), I wanna see what he can do with some of his players and another year under the belt of the experienced players. I'm not football smart enough to point out any specific units or players that will make things better.
  12. Question because I really don't know. If you recruit players from out of state, do they pay out of state tuition and therefore increase the cost of the scholarship?
  13. With a little more clarity on the situation, I can't imagine that this isn't going to be some surprise home game. It's got to at least be a decent G5 though since Abilene is the other home game.
  14. Is army still theoretically on the 2021 schedule then? Five OOC games still on the schedule? Could we potentially keep army and drop whatever the hell Rhode Island incarnate University of Abilene?
  15. Big XII could have power to kick Baylor out of conference.
  16. Ensenada, 1991. I still physically shudder even at the sight of your tiny picture of tequila.
  17. By whom? Anybody that matters for anything beyond social media trash talking trolls? Quid pro quo social media trash talking troll? Again, who are these ultra powerful social media voices that so hate us and have the societal influence to keep us down? Maybe you're just reading the wrong circles. Go to r/CFB and find that people, even those with burnt orange flair, generally have a favorable view of lil' ole UNT. Don't perpetuate the self loathing young one.
  18. If that article is more accurate than fbsschedules, then we've effectively turned the series with Army into a 2 for 1 with no compensation and now have an open home date with no opponent yet named for 2019. However... Even the way Bret's article is worded, I'm not entirely sure if he got the dates correct. He essentially says we've replaced Army with Liberty, but uses 2019 for Army and 2021 for Liberty home games.
  19. I've known this all along. Still, communicating that dropping the '18 and '21 games were moves in some grander 4D chess match doesn't make any sense to me at all. We would have been at Army in '18. Now we're at Liberty in '18. We would have had Army at home in '21. Now we have Liberty at home in '21. This was a straight up game for game swap from Army to Liberty. It doesn't open up any slots anywhere. The OOC slate is set through 2021. Unless somehow this swap has convinced Alabama and Ohio St to come to Apogee in 2022 and play with half their team in blindfolds and the other half with one leg hogtied, I just don't for the life of me see what this move has accomplished other than expressing fear of the triple option, inability to negotiate with a not-yet-ready-for-prime time "university" football program, or downright indifference. I just don't get this move. At all. Not one bit. Do I look forward to dropping the remaining Army games in '19 and '20 in favor of, oh, I dunno, a home and home with currently NAIA Missouri Baptist as it attempts to make the move to mighty FCS? What the HELL are we doing here? I do so tire of the cloak and dagger nature of college athletics, everything a secret followed by excuses and ultimate finger pointing at the peon fan base. Send the apologists to tell me to shut the F up, give more money, and bow down at some campus monument now. Maybe I'll at least receive both my tickets AND my parking passes this year before the season begins without some kid in the office shouting at me that I'm a liar for saying I haven't received them. Hopefully, at least that part is getting better (It sure as shit didn't for the HOD Bowl). I still pay my money. I still go to the games. But I gotta tell you, the enthusiasm with which I do so declines with each and every passing year. That's not to be an I'm gonna ragequit threat. I'm not going to fly a banner. I'm not going to stomp my feet and demand something beyond what I believe to be the value of my contributions. But son, neither am I going to run around in a crop top and poms poms worshiping the very ground that anybody wearing a green shirt walks on. Finally, just so we're clear on things, athletics is but one facet of the overall university that I support. I'm over the moon excited to share the UNT experience with my daughter this year as she begins her Eagle journey, not a jazz flute in sight. OK, she does plan on using some electives to study jazz at UNT while the opportunity to do so is there, but mainly she's gonna science and math ya'll to kingdom come.
  20. Most likely prior to the scheduled 2021 game. This deal stinks to high heaven long before anybody attaches any moral disgust to the institution.
  21. The current, ongoing situation slathered in perpetual reasons as to why
  22. Now I'm kinda excited to see what happens if the 2021 home game actually takes place. Though I still think we've been duped into a free of charge one-off away game.
  23. If you think evolutionary biologists are bad, start having a conversation of this ilk with the astrophysicists. I checked. Liberty's astrophysics appears to be limited to a telescope through which alumni can "view the heavens." In unrelated news, I am surprised to find that they offer a number of Associated's Degree programs. Is that at all common in a university?
