Thursday night game, and even big giant P5s are suffering a loss of fans in the stadium. Seeing as how our opponents in the HOD Bowl were UNLV and Army, because hey, we're UNT and we don't get marquee bowl matchups, I don't really see this as a big deal. I am curious though, if Army is the default Armed Forces Bowl team, what were they doing in HOD last year?

Baylor and Syracuse <> Iowa. With UNT's scheduling luck, if we were to put either Baylor or Syracuse on our schedule, it would be the one year they make the CFP playoffs with all their players roided up and hyped up from all the hookers and blow they did that morning while their unscrupulous soon to flee to the NFL coach watched on. Another P5 victory only ever happens if we can downgrade our body bag games from Alabama and LSU to Kansas and Duke.

Nitpicky, and I may be mistaken, but I think 2012 South Alabama was on equal transitional footing with 2007-2008 Western Kentucky and counted as an FBS win.

Through Dodge, McCarney, and now Littrell, I have only seen the 2013 team able to defend against the long ball. For a good decade, if I were an opposing coach, long passes down the sideline are the only offensive play I would ever run. It would either be a catch or a pass interference penalty 75% of the time with the very rare interception that would really equate to a nice long punt.

Tough sell, but glad to see the effort. I kinda wonder, since we've been a top (bottom) ten losing team for some fifteen years now, how DO you sell tickets? Nickel beer night? Disco demolition? Midget placekickers? (Um, I believe they prefer to be called little kickers) This is a semi-serious, semi-frivolous question. No, I don't think the band uniforms are the key to success here. I mean, to be totally honest, having done this for ten years, season tickets already paid for and in hand, I've seen one and a half games this season (I had to remove myself from Ford Stadium at halftime), even I'm not much looking forward to the next game. I don't know if I could sell my tickets for ten bucks on craig's list right now. It just isn't an attractive draw. That's not a nice thing to say. It's not pretty, or pleasant, or holding the glorious green and white to its status as symbolic deity. But it's pretty damn true. Back to the question. How do you sell this thing to the general public?

I encourage each and every one of us to create your own reality, your own value on this experience, and your own method of attending/enjoying/giving. There is no right or wrong way, no matter how many times (I'm going to filter this part) will say otherwise.

Of all the things I could cite that contributed to my having a shitty weekend, the tint of the uniforms is pretty far down on the list. I kinda liked them if for no other reason, they were a YUUUUUGE departure from the "I got these uniforms on sale at the thrift store" amateur hour of, well, times past.
