  1. We go into next week with the line opening with us as ten point dogs.
  2. All that, and yet the ref's mic still sounds like a school teacher from Charlie Brown hiding under a pile of blankets.
  3. We'd eaten like half a pig before we came over. There was no room left in the inn, so to speak!
  4. I was already in the stadium when that happened and could smell it from my seats. I knew something was burning that shouldn't be, but couldn't see anything. Then UNT90 came in and told me what had happened. I'm thinking Harry's picture needs to be the new standard on this board for when any of our teams lose.
  5. At the beginning of the school year, my kid took a Seth Littrell poster and hung it up in her dorm room. Other kids in the dorm were giving her a hard time about it, we're not here for football, blah, blah, blah. So she kept moving the poster to prominent places where they would see it. She hung it over the bathroom mirror, she would hang it from the ceiling above bunk beds. Yesterday, she took a whole stack of Seth Littrell posters (10ish of them) took god knows how many of those battle flags, a handful of pom-poms, and a couple of those things you cheer with and hung all of them in her dorm overnight. She also said several times that if she stays at UNT, she really, really wants to join the Mean Green Brigade (but that they really need to step up their marching routines) I like my kid.
  6. I've never been in such a bad mood after a win. I noticed people walking out after the game were largely silent. I'm glad for the win. I don't know what to make of this team and this coaching staff. I maintain that were I an opposing coach, I would do nothing but long passes down the sideline. We just can't defend it. It felt like Dodge 2.0. The offense was there, but the defense was an afterthought. I really like SL. I hope this works out. But if I'm being completely honest, I just don't know. It's like you could bring Nick Saban into Denton, and he would start making bad football decisions. I'm feeling the beat down of years of futility tonight in spite of the win. Unrelated, cool as hell to do the Abner Haynes thing tonight. That was awesome.
  7. I don't really find it a contradiction that I like a person, but not one particular bit he does.
  8. There are some aspects of the ticket I enjoy. There are others I don't. The two things I could do without: Fake whatever every morning at 6:40. To me, not even Fake Jerry is funny, and Mushmouth is a brutal beating that leaves me with the choice of either running my car into an elementary school dropoff zone or immediately changing the station. Norm is indeed knowledgeable. In fact, he's so knowledgeable, he'll tell you everything he has to say...TWICE! Love Gordon Keith. I find him the most relatable personality on the station. He seems like a genuinely good person. I really enjoy Corby even though I know some here consider him a total Chris-Chris bro who only follows whatever team is the best juggernaut on any given day. His entertainment and music stuff is fantastic. I've got strong opinions on both sides of the fence regarding George, but given his unrelenting love and affection for UNT, I'll not comment specifically.
  9. That's what that place as called. I was trying to remember the other day when I drove by the old location. They made a mean burger indeed.
  10. Know anybody who can sew? A couple folds and some white thread should fix that right up, so long as you only display one side.
  11. Speaking of false advertising, did anybody else notice that dumbass "P6" logo on their yard markers?
  12. I've done the all you can eat ribs on University, but that was around 2010ish.
  13. Yep. In the three and a half years I spent at UNT as a student, I only bought a permit the first semester. Figured out right quick that it was a total scam. But I parked over on Oak or Hickory Street. The closest lot covered by my permit was a church on Oak Street that was actually farther from my classes than free street parking.
  14. So THAT'S where they moved the Apogee ice machine!
  15. Many times -- during the Neil McCarthy era in basketball...
  16. I'll take middle of the pack at this point. I have no idea what the rest of this season brings.
  17. Oh.
  18. Whoa. Do we get bonus Carlos Harris too?
  19. I find it rather intriguing that given the nature of their departures, both Dickey and McCarney are coming back to Denton this season. Edit: My favorite big ass ring and concrete stands quote seems to be scrubbed from the interwebs. Can't find it anywhere.
  20. I am clearly a blind idiot. I knew the old people's dance studio was there, and Dan's of course, but never saw that place in between. I'll have to give it a shot. I don't have to wear clothes in there, do I? (By that I mean anything nicer than jeans and a t-shirt.)
  21. How long has that place been there? I've never heard of it. Probably have walked right past it multiple times.
  22. Tri-tip is a Central California staple. You sure you really wanna go there?
  23. This is a crime against humanity if true. Edit: I think you may have that confused with The Candy Store that was on the other side of the square.
  24. Breakfast: Hypnotic Donuts (And the delightful Cultivar Coffee) Loco Cafe (Hipster food) Dix Coney (Greasy Spoon diner. Sometimes indifferent service, sometimes great service. The fantastic morning after chili cheese omelet no longer on the menu, but still available) Mexican: Sabrocita's Casa Galaviz (A little bit less Mexican, small family owned and hand made flour tortillas that are worth every calorie) Central American: Guatelinda Cafe (Pupusas and Chile Rellenos oh my good god) Sandwiches: New York Sub Hub Milkshakes: Frosty's BBQ: The Juicy Pig (I will ague fervently for this over Bet the House all day long) Burgers: Yeah, I ain't even going there. Burgers are war in Denton
  25. Won't walk out of that place hungry, that's for sure!
