  1. It's a start that the North Texas Daily is writing a positive piece on football and encouraging students to attend.
  2. So now you gotta wonder in anything similar is going down in football, investigation wise. Not sure which sport is dirtier at the top schools.
  3. Going back to opening day of Apogee in 2011, we have won seven road games -- three of those being in 2013. So that''s 7-31 on the road (which is astonishingly STILL better than the previous coaching regime's overall record). I'll wait to see improvement there.
  4. Speaking of Southern Miss helmets, does anybody else see a pattern here?
  5. I know I'm in the minority, but I liked the gray jerseys. They looked like old timey baseball jerseys to me.
  6. To me? Not at all. To many other people? It seems so.
  7. Are we gonna go twelve games with twelve uni combos?
  8. Road game. Us -- some points Them -- more points
  9. So, I'm confused. What happened at the end of the day?
  10. It was a nice gesture.
  11. Agree on the club. It was surprisingly full, but like you, I'm guessing lots of guests. I saw of lot of lapel pins that indicated people being honored.
  12. Dodgeball -- pass the ball up to about the 20 yard line, then shift around indecisively through four attempted timeouts before missing a field goal.
  13. We were quite comfortably above .500 before the Dodge era. It has fallen badly since.
  14. No. I found some website with all-time wins, and it includes every game played.
  15. I could swear that as I was leaving Apogee on Saturday night, there was a big graphic on the scoreboard that said UNT Football 500 wins. Was saturday the 500th win of the program?
  16. Can we? Will we?
  17. Other than the fact that he's got 16% more total wins in only 37% of total games coached, I'd say Saturday's game reminded me a whole lot of a former coaching regime from Southlake. I know that everybody loves video game college football where everybody scores five bajillion points every week, but I really, really, really don't like feeling that a 21 point lead in the fourth quarter isn't safe because all the other team has to do is pass the ball downfield a couple times.
  18. Who's Izzy? Can't figure it out.
  19. I'm having a hard time nailing it down, but it looks like the stoppage rules change in the last two minutes of the first half, and last five minutes of the second half. Clock restarts upon spotting the ball after going out of bounds.
  20. That's a lotta cheesecake!
  21. Did anybody else notice that sometimes the clock kept running when a player stepped out of bounds or there was a first down while other times it stopped when a player stepped out of bounds or there was a first down? I found myself questioning my knowledge of the rules of college football until I saw them directly contradicting themselves throughout the game. Maybe there's still something I don't understand, but it looked arbitrary.
  22. It's hard to say. I always stayed an arm's length away from school stuff. That was almost exclusively a mother's domain, so I just wrote the checks and steered clear. I went to musicals and football games quietly and anonymously.
  23. My checkbook asserts that they are indeed very real.
  24. She was in Lewisville, whose routines were about as exciting as watching paint dry. Their director's M.O. is to always get a 1 at (I'm sorry, I don't know. Is it UIL?) by doing the bare minimum requirements to perfection to get it. But she watched a lot of other schools do some really cool stuff. Hebron consistently went all out of theirs. Marcus is apparently the best in the district, but their annual band fees and time commitments are outrageous. Lewisville was $400 a year. Kid had a couple middle school classmates end up in Marcus, and they said it was like two or three thousand a year.
