These guys are going to be officers in the US military. Between their play and some of the reports of fans in the stands, a wee bit of the luster of service men and women wore off tonight for me. I know we're all human, but I honestly expected better.

That is a reality every other year and every other year we complain about it.

Couple Army fans over at reddit bitching about the officiating not making obvious calls against UNT. Ummm...did they watch the same game I did?

Wilson was on crutches and in a boot. Didn't look good. Army played kinda dirty. They're like the little guy in high school who tops out at 5'4", goes and hits the gym really hard and gets "stocky," picks a fight with the biggest kid on campus, then proceeds to step on his toes and kick him in the shins. Screw it. We won. Again. Perfect 6-0 at home. Three games left. Sadly, I can't make any of them, because I would really like to. Go Mean Green! Great season, and it goes on and on! And when was the last time we had a crowd over 25K for the last home game of the season who actually came into the stadium and stayed the entire game? That was fantastic! Finally, because I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, I checked the kick time this morning, and I swear it said 6:30, so I almost missed the start of the game. Must've seen a listing in eastern time. I am not a clever man. Also, I likened this game to watching live action Tecmo Bowl. Army had Bo Jackson. UNT had Jerry Rice. Your little brother played defense for both sides after you let him take a couple rips off your bong.

Back when Boise was on the rise, and the year that Hawaii went to the Sugar Bowl, they both played pretty weak WAC schedules since all the "name" teams had already fled for the Mountain West. All it takes is 11 wins in the regular season. They'll pay attention at that point regardless of schedule.

When I was a Freshman at a Big West school in 1990, they were on one of their really good streaks. Neil McCarthy was their coach back when the Big West would pretty consistently get three or sometimes four bids to the tourney. He was one of thirteen basketball coaches to get the dreaded show cause designation. Those teams kicked the ever living snot out of us, but boy were they fun to watch (as were the early nineties Jerry Tarkanian UNLV teams)

2 games against a transitional and one FCS. I think transitional team wins count. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.

Next year, they have five home games, two bye weeks, and play Liberty twice.

Aren't they getting kicked out of the Sun Belt after this year with Idaho?

Hell, I lost access to my UNT email account while I was still a student. Set it to forward to my gmail account, and completely forgot my login information. Then after graduation, I turned it off from Gmail. So I get that part then.

Did scanning IDs not get that information? I can see with UNT's silo mentality on databases back then that it might not have.

On the few occasions that I used my student ID at Fouts in 2008, they definitely scanned it. By 2010, they probably didn't bother because Dodge.

When YOU played high school football, was that town with a population of 900 called Dallas and did you wear the skins of vanquished raccoons for helmets? Did they show the time remaining in a quarter via sundial? Record the score with Roman numerals chiseled into stone plates?

I remember two weeknight games in Apogee. There was a game against ULL that I absolutely couldn't get to. The Halloween game against Rice I made, but I had to haul ass out of work to get there. If memory serves, I showed up in suit and tie because I didn't have time to change. Weeknight games are basically sucking one game a year out of what I pay for my season tickets, so personally and selfishly, I say no, they aren't worth it.

I got notification weeks ago that the club was sold out for this game, so you were kinda lucky on that one.

There's a 10-point swing between Vegas lines and Sagarin predictions (We'd be a 7-point dog on the Sagarin ratings). So, who shows up on Saturday? A Dickey team who knows it has the conference division and a bowl game wrapped up, so doesn't care, or a bunch of hungry ne'er-do-wells who want to put a stamp on their legacy with an undefeated home season?
