  1. Doubtful we'll ever need to.
  2. This is fun stuff to read. Get a glimpse into just how nuts this place is. North Korea Twitter
  3. This is just a guess, but that ratio probably applies to things like groceries and gasoline. I doubt housing is only twice as expensive in San Francisco. If you add that to the mix, I'd estimate the salary to be equal to around 80-100K. This doesn't necessarily justify the pay though.
  4. An even better example than my previous one of Huffington. Liberals should also not be able to use Keith Olbermann.
  5. First off, completely agree with your assessment of education. Now to this point. I've really been thinking about this, and I can't for the life of me understand how someone who's entire livelihood, income, health care, life insurance and retirement is 100% funded by tax payer dollars and protected by union membership can so consistently take such overt anti-union and anti-public everything stances. I guess we are opposites since I've never taken public funding of any kind and have been working without a safety net my entire life yet I support the existence of a good number of unions and tax funded entities.
  6. Only worthwhile when there is mud/oil/jello involved and they make out in the end.
  7. I really think it should be a rule that conservatives don't get to post Ann Coulter to support their side, and liberals don't get to post Arianna Huffington.
  8. This isn't the challenge. That doesn't mean it won't come, but this isn't it. Cuba's probably just as viable a threat as North Korea. I like that Obama's actually calling them on it too. He literally used the phrase saber rattling today in response to their threats.
  9. But those salaries in San Francisco will only buy the half portion of the Grand Slam Breakfast at Denny's on non-holiday weekdays.
  10. There's PC on both sides. It's just the left's version that got the label. Pardon me while I go hunt down some illegals who are murdering their unborn babies before I lunch on some freedom fries.
  11. If I flew out to LA my ass would be in the stadium!
  12. The UCI baseball game this Friday is on ESPNU, which I don't have at home. Unfortunately, the games don't hit ESPN360 until the next round. So I need a place that has ESPNU and is open until at least 1 o'clock. This puts the nix on Frisco as its "bars" all close at midnight, which would put us in about the 7th inning and would suck.
  13. Hmmm. So you can burn the flag but not display it. I can't quite grasp the difference there.
  14. What about all us pasty white guys going shirtless at the pool this summer?
  15. New student fees. But wait! I'm not even going to use this country! Why should I be paying for it? *Don't worry. I'm just taking the opportunity to mock the anti-stadium crowd.
  16. Wow. That's one tactic for the anti-booze crowd to get their way. I can see the Frisco housewives now shopping for their linens to get in bed with the Greenpeace crowd. Do you have this duvet in Zodiac?
  17. I noticed that before and thought, "Nah. Couldn't be."
  18. The belt got two bids. Not bad considering the field as a whole is one of the most egregiously BCS laden in history. Baylor and Okie St getting in are just slaps in the face to the mid-majors. Rhode Island may as well just roll over and die if their resume wasn't good enough to get in over a sub .500 ninth place Big XII team.
  19. Just a technicality, there are 7 Texas universities in the tournament. The College World Series is a two-bracket, eight-team tournament of those left standing after the regionals and the super regionals. Therefore, there are no team whatsoever yet in the 2009 College World Series.
  20. I just agreed with you whole-heartedly dude. You're letting your preconceptions of me and my Chinese students get in the way of reading my posts. Edit -- In rereading my initial response, I suppose it could be taken as sarcastic, but really, I was agreeing with you. Asia is a whole different animal than most people realize and your response was the most educated thus far in this thread.
  21. My God man! Are you the only person around here who's ever read anything about a subject beyond the borders of the Red River? Nicely played sir. Nicely played indeed.
