What, exactly, do you have against A&M grads?

I thought I only see this kind of stuff on SBC boards:

Um, it's been my experience growing up that school has always been a channel of ideological communication from the government to the young no matter who's in office. Start with the daily recitation of the pledge in the morning, progress to the government approved curriculum in all subject, but especially history and social studies, and move on to the government telling kids what to eat. These things have been part of school since at least the time I was a child, and I suspect earlier. I was never, ever taught in school to question the government. I was only taught to respect, admire, and love the government. I was taught to hate Qudaffi, Castro, the USSR, Mao, Kim, and Noriega without ever really being told who they were. I was taught that Ollie North and Osama bin Laden were heroes to America without ever being told why (yes, THAT Osama bin Laden). I happily spent my money on the ever popular t-shirt that read, "Kill a commie for your mommy." So, in conclusion, you don't really have to look at the Muslim world to see what happens when students from a very young age are fed a company line through their educational systems. You merely have to look in your own backyard.

This whole no beer at college sporting events is a really new concept to me. I think most of the CA schools have stopped since I was a student, but boy howdy, let me tell you, it was nice to have $2 beers sold in the stands at games back in the day! Especially when one was walking distance from one's apartment!

I have the BYU/Oklahoma game on in the background and I noticed several players have helmet stickers already. This IS their first game, no? How the hell are they earning stickers before the first game? Magic spring practice sticker fairies?

I also remember Reagan speaking to us, and it didn't indoctrinate me to the GOP, but then again, Obama's from Illinois, not Texas, so I can't possibly see anybody giving a rat's ass about it.

I had lunch in Southlake on Sunday. They have not moved on.

Since I've never seen a UNT win, I'm taking partial credit for this as well since I was all cooped up in Finance class last night. I didn't know the results until well after the game had ended. The little kiosk computers in the business buildings had a yahoo sports curse on them so I couldn't even check the score during the break.

Quite a few students out and about last night. They had tables set up with various UNT swag. Should be a good student turnout. It was pretty funny last night, I got home, went in to tell the kid good night and told her that UNT won a game. Her reaction was pretty funny. "Were they playing a real team?"

Dare I allow myself a sliver of hope that I might see my first ever UNT victory next weekend? Dare I?
