  1. I've done it for another conference. They debited my credit card, then I called and canceled my membership on Monday.
  2. Some members may get pissed at me, but this is a very funny article on the state of Big West athletics posted on the Big West message board. If you don't give a rat's ass, then don't click on the link.
  3. Former Big West schools and current conference affiliation: WAC Boise St Fresno St San Jose St Utah St Idaho La. Tech* Nevada New Mexico St Mountain West UNLV Sunbelt North Texas Ark St* La Lafayette* MAC Northern Illinois* *Football only You take the current WAC lineup and add UNLV, and that was the core of the old Big West (Boise, Idaho and Nevada were brief transients moving up in division), so yes, the Big West still exists in name with four members still there from the 70s, but none of which have football anymore. As for the WAC, it really is what once was the Big West. The old WAC mostly comprises the Mountain West Now: * BYU (1962-99) * New Mexico (1962-99) * Utah (1962-99) * Wyoming (1962-99) * Colorado State (1967-99) * San Diego State (1978-99) * Air Force (1980-99) * UNLV (1996-99)
  4. Per capita calories consumed? I'll take the over.
  5. There's this wonderful tool called the telephone. You may have heard of it. I just put it to use to engage in long distance communication with Voertmann's. They do indeed carry UNT ponchos.
  6. That and there were a LOT of students watching the Ball St. game in the rain last week.
  7. Was there pillow fighting involved?
  8. Jack Daniels. It makes you bullet proof, so I'd imagine it would offer fantastic protection from a few rain drops.
  9. Dammit! *smacks forehead*
  10. Can't really see what that is. Looks like landing out of bounds in the back of the endzone and being awarded the catch?
  11. I have a question about Texas that really, truly isn't meant to be snarky. I've noticed a persistent fear of lightning out here. Is there good reason for it? Do large numbers of Texans get struck down every year?
  12. Laugh now, eat later. Incidentally the kid made the bacon weave. She put those elementary school construction paper skills to good use!
  13. Has UNT ever beat Texas? I know there have been a few victories over Tech.
  14. Does your Dennys serve Mean Green Eggs and Ham?
  15. Hey! Psst! Tiny, 8lb 6oz baby football Jesus, wrapped up in your tiny Mean Green football poncho protected by your rain proof North Texas hat, laying there in your manger, so sweet and tender! If it's not too much to add to FilmerJ's prayer, do you think you could see fit to make SMU lose today too? It's been, well, probably never that UNT started 2-0 and SMU started 0-2. Thanks big fella!
  16. Damn! You beat me by 9c!
  17. Dry rubbed flank steak, ham, boudin sausage, eggs, carrots, bell peppers, cheese wrapped in a bacon weave. Slight variation on a theme from BBQ USA. I've gauged the cooking time that it will be ready right about the time the beer kicks in and people get the munchies for vile, death inducing food.
  18. Note to self: The gas station on the other side of the orange lot sells backup beers. Honestly, I think this'll be the best attended rainy game in a looong time. There's been quite a buzz amongst the classmates this week.
  19. I forget who recommended it today, but we picked up our 88c ponchos from Walmart today. I'm sure the kid will absolutely love getting all soaked out there.
  20. Totally hypothetical. If it still sponsored football, would you prefer the SBC or the old Big West setup?
  21. Rain Schmain. I'm going to slowly kill you all.
  22. Every game I've ever seen so far. Hoping that trend will end tomorrow.
  23. But we sold all our big breweries to the Europeans. What the hell do they know about beer?
  24. Do they need someone to teach their hookers how to drink?
  25. But it might further water down my cheap American beer, and that is serious cause for concern!
