  1. Exactly! The tailgating in the concourse has GOT to come to an end! It's embarrassing!
  2. I just got that email and it doesn't appear to be athletic related in any way, shape, or form.
  3. I wouldn't worry too much about that. I could see their greek letters from my seats at the Jackson St. game. They stayed out there all night tailgating.
  4. There are Beef O' Bradys in North Richland Hills and Arlington. I've never heard of them before this. The name sounds like a crappy canned beef stew to me. Don't think I'll be making that drive to try them out.
  5. What is this...NCAA you speak of? Don't they oversee the football playoffs of teams like Sam Houston St and Montana? Last I checked, the governing body for professional teams like Ohio St, USC and Miami was the ever omnipotent ESPN.
  6. How horrible is life when the Super Pit becomes the inferior facility when comparing basketball with football? I was looking up on Friday, and noticing the absence of a hanging scoreboard though. I'd say that even a basic "Home: Away:" LED display would be nice there. But the 10,000 cushioned chairbacks? That's some premo college basketball real estate there. It's tough watching 48 minutes riding a pine bench. As for audio, for a university with a school of film, radio and television, it seems nigh impossible in both facilities for anybody to wire speakers up to a mic. I wonder if I started going to basketball games if I'd become as fluent in ref signals as I've become in football ref hand signals.
  7. That's a hell of a jump, and he deserves it.
  8. With the help of the turbines, we totally blew them away.
  9. I expressly recall seeing quite a few snaps under center this season when the situation called for it. I also noticed a clear absence of the chronic stare at the sidelines like a deer in the headlights syndrome. It was really, really clear in the last game when MUTS kept standing up and staring at the sidelines on offense, a move that I've never seen come out ahead. I saw them doing it, and I felt a cold, sharp pain running through my spine. Then I realize it wasn't the team in green doing it.
  10. Clearly it's not raining then. What, too soon?
  11. As far as I understand it, he never sold his house in Southlake. In somewhat related news, I laughed at one of the posts on the rivals Pitt message board. Said something along the lines of, "Good riddance to this goofy no huddle spread offense." I couldn't have said it better myself.
  12. Saw the name Darius and got confused for a brief moment.
  13. CUSA still sits at the big boy table in baseball and does consider it a priority sport. Rice, Tulane and Southern Miss drive the conference in baseball. ECU and Houston are pretty significant losses in baseball with final RPIs of 27 and 62 respectively last season. I know this is football country and all other sports pale mightily in comparison, but there are six conferences out there that really do care about baseball, and CUSA is one of them. As for the MWC, yeah, not so much.
  14. That always works out well! I'd like to point out that Southlake Carroll is once again in the state championship game with an entirely new genius level coaching staff.
  15. We need to catch some concerts together. Call me! I'm not tied up at night anymore!
  16. I'm no longer oldguystudent. Rather, I'm now middle-aged alum. Finished it today. Feels pretty good. GMG!
  17. Does God want anybody to be a devil?
  18. Well, I suppose that's one way to get people to come.
  19. Would that not be a face losing admission that UNT's football and overall athletic decision making acumen is on the rise?
  20. They should be careful what they wish for. MTSU's offense looking stunningly familiar with the constant deer in the headlights looks to the sidelines, the broken offensive line, and the rushed passes out to the flats. The complete inability to make quick decisions was eerily similar to what we've seen over years past as well. I'm just absolutely not sold that a pure spread offense is at all effective against any but the poorest defensive squads out there. It's a compensation against bigger, faster defenses that gives your slower, weaker offense a percentage chance at a big play. Just like "everybody go long!" back in elementary school recess pickup games. The long bomb would occasionally pay off, but not consistently. Incidentally, Southlake Carroll is on the cusp of yet another state championship, facing Skyline in the state semis this weekend. I guess they got themselves another genius coaching staff down there.
  21. I move that we start a petition and campaign for them to do just that.
  22. My guess is yes, because back when Pacific, Cal St. Fullerton and Long Beach St still had football teams, their body bag games were always against the big boys of the Big 10 like Michigan or Ohio St. as opposed to the easy drive down to UCLA or USC.
