  1. So sorry. Does this one work for you? Jacob Abels
  2. Are we seriously sitting at 2-3 and waxing nostalgic about the superior aspects of teflon dodgeball, man of endless bare cupboard apologists excuses? Was that guy handing out favors under the bleachers or something?
  3. This thread is serving up mountains of mac & cheese at the hungry troll buffet.
  4. I was a really well educated young man, about 20 years ahead of my time. My peers laughed at me back then. Now they express appreciation for my foresight.
  5. Well, the point being that you don't typically have t-shirt fans going to baseball games. Dare I say even the Longhorn fans were gracious when we swept them right off the baseball map in Austin. It's been my experience that you meet the core fan base outside football and basketball. Edit: I should add that the same premise has shown the core fan base of my alma mater to be a bunch of self-entitled Orange County douchebags better suited for reality television that sporting events.
  6. The same fine folk who engineered the ref mics at Apogee.
  7. Must be football. I've been there for high stakes post season baseball, and our team beat them. Other than their trying to tip the visiting team bus on its side while full of visiting players, the fans wee cooler than hell to little ole me. I had a GREAT time in Baton Rouge.
  8. I expect a full-blown photojournalistic criticism of their play, marching, numbers and uniforms.
  9. Cougars = MILFs MILFs = mothers Mean Green = Eagles Mean Green = Mother ****ing Eagles
  10. Can receivers in college still use stick'um? Get us a passing game, we win this.
  11. Who doesn't love slurpees?
  12. Still lots of work to do and improvement to realize, but this team has eclipsed a higher win total in 17 games than the previous 43. If that's not immediate and marked improvement, I don't know what is.
  13. For the record, one does not plead no contest in Texas. One pleads No Lo Contendre.
  14. The 1990 reference severely limited options. There were schools out west similar to UTA in many ways that were running D1 athletic programs with D2 football. The NCAA put a stop to that, so if you're a D1 program like UTA, and you want to look at non-scholarship football, the Pioneer League is pretty much your only option, and it's a pretty bad option.
  15. Or the side of a barn at an Amish construction seminar.
  16. Oh dear lord. Knott couldn't hit ice from the south pole.
  17. There are very few places that prefer non-scholarship football to no football. Since the 1990 NCAA ruling that schools couldn't step down a division in football, the only option had been the pioneer league and maybe one other (patriot?) The football programs in that status don't go to the playoffs, they aren't very good.
  18. I just saw that movie for the first time a month or two ago. It was a lot better and funnier than I thought it would be. I believe it's still on Netflix for those interested.
  19. I see Karl Benson had been writing to the daily
  20. I'm certainly no dog genius, but I've got a 100 pound shepherd who is the sweetest, gentlest thing...within the family. Someone breeches the perimeter, and they don't tend to stick around for long after seeing/hearing her. Because of this, I'm really careful about introducing her to new people or dogs, and always have her on about a six-inch leash when outside.
  21. I chortle in SMU's general direction that CUSA and the Big East get lumped together in the also ran conferences.
