  1. I caught one game on facebook last season and really enjoyed it. Thing is, I don't know how I found it, or how you get to stadium's schedule. Hope that part gets easier because the production was way better than ESPN3.
  2. First of all, Robert Wilonsky really sounds like one of those "That money could've been spent on organic quinoa for the homeless!" types in this article. Now then: Ouch, baby. Ouch.
  3. Multiple sources state the fee is to host: Example link It's a strange instance where teams prefer to travel over playing at home.
  4. I was very against these tournaments until I watched a four-year stretch of my other school go from CBI to CIT to NIT to NCAA. In some odd way, it seems to create an expectation of post season play, and since you're gonna play in the post season, you may as well start ramping things up for the quality of post season you play. The pay to play for the home teams is ridiculous though. I always look at the home teams in these tournaments and shake my head, thinking, "Man, you guys must be REALLY hard up for some self imposed kudos or something."
  5. If the renovations taking place were Sack N Save once stood are the front porch of the university, then the giant battle flag is the welcome mat.
  6. I could make this exact argument about football though, and don't even get me started on the last two minutes of every basketball game ever played. College baseball, like MLB, is toying with a pitch clock. Not set in stone yet, but probably imminent.
  7. Clearly this university is not taking athletics seriously.
  8. It's got some pretty serious tatters in it from flying in the wind already. To whom to I express my righteous indignation?
  9. I all fairness, I don't know of many college defenses that are all that spectacular in the present day game.
  10. I can't quite remember if the Oktoberfest and the Ohio game were one or two events, but I enjoyed it. I appreciated having a place to go like that for road games. Some feedback on Alumni Association memberships: The lifetime membership was $400 and I didn't have it. Then the lifetime membership was $500, which I totally understood, and I still didn't have it. So I was strongly considering it this year, I got my solicitation letter, and the lifetime membership had jumped up to $700 or $750 while the annual membership remained at $40. If I NPV the outbound cashflows, the lifetime membership no longer makes sense for me. I know that we're supposed to look at this thing beyond a mere financial transaction, but so I am where I am in my life, and I put a value on all outbound cash transactions.
  11. I am never, ever, under any circumstance, not even under the threat of tortuous death ascribing the 2010 WKU or MTSU wins to Dodge.
  12. Back around 2013ish, the Alumni Association was using the Pavilion for events other than game days. Does that still go on?
  13. Pretty sure I have received the sports pass in prior years, but I got two this year instead of one.
  14. Just got my annual letter for Mean Green Club Mean Green Scholarship Fund. Pretty cool stickers this year.
  15. UTEP is an open enrollment university with an effective 100% acceptance rate. Point of data I can find (not sure which year) 7,133 of 7,134 applicants were admitted. I kinda wanna know what that one guy did to get rejected.
  16. Why bother with kickoffs anymore then? Can't just about every FBS level kicker put it through the endzone at will? I guess it becomes a relic like the old mid-game jump balls in basketball before there was a possession arrow.
  17. Without looking it up, aren't they in a conference for sports other than football? Army football is Army football. They're kind of an outlier in all this. I don't think BYU is.
  18. Yeah, not sure anybody not named Notre Dame can really make it as an independent anymore. It's rough seas out there. BYU had a little bit of an issue with the MWC in refusing to play on Sunday. Doesn't affect football or basketball, but it does other sports. It threw a pretty good sized wrench into baseball for sure.
  19. Dallas city leadership failed to raise the budget enough to provide us with a rain on the scale of what Gainesville, FL can provide its residents.
  20. Was it more of a 2007 game at Fouts against WKU, a 2009 game at Fouts against Ohio, or a 2013 game at Apogee against UTSA kind of rain?
  21. Looking at the list of Heisman trophy winners, the last non-P5 was Ty Detmer of BYU in 1990, if you consider BYU G5. Prior to that, you have to go back to 1958 for Pete Dawkins of Army, if you consider 1950s Army to be non-P5. Finally, we can go back to 1951 for Dick Kazmaier of Princeton. That was post 1945 when the Ivy League stopped giving athletic scholarships, so I'm going with the last true non-P5 Heisman being some 66 years ago.
  22. Do you think that Fort Worth is going to recognize Denton?
