  1. You know, remember when we were a clamoring for Mike Leach to be coach here at UNT a few years back? This is kinda like we're getting all the offensive know-how without the litigious jerk.
  2. If ifs and buts were candy and nuts
  3. There has been change in the ticket office. There has been noticeable change in the mailers I've received. Hopefully there will be change in who oversees mean green club growth for the commoners. Everybody wants to feel valued. For me, that doesn't necessarily need to involved whether or not anybody listens to what I have to say about depth charts or coaching hires, but rather that I'm valued for giving a large sum of money relative to my annual income. Heretofore, whenever directly dealing with the office and not going through you, they've made me feel like I'm a burden and occasionally, and I quote, "A dumbass." The source of the latter nomenclature has obviously and thankfully moved on.
  4. Surely all the "unknowns" on this list are Muslims, probably of the refugee variety.
  5. Good lord. It looks like BYU and Army count as P5 OOC games, but not Navy. I bet somebody's gonna come offering a handsome sum to get us out of our upcoming Army series.
  6. It's ok. He's winning don't you see.
  7. "Everybody go long! And hurry! They're about the blow the whistle to end recess!" has a better winning % then North Texas. As for @UNT90 watching my head explode at the spread, so long as we don't burn three time outs and insist on going from the shotgun on 4th and millimeters then decide to go for (and miss...badly) a short field goal instead when there's 3 seconds left in the game, and we're down by five, I might be ok. If Littrell's words about evolution and adaptation hold true. If he isn't stubborn as a jackass mule in a situation that calls for a little thought, then I'll probably be ok. I will miss the Marilyn Monroe signboards on the sidelines though.
  8. There's a roku-like service Sling TV that lets you get the ESPN channels and some other crap for $20 a month. I've considered it, but then decided that since cutting the cord in 2009, I just haven't missed watching sports on TV at all. $20 a month isn't worth watching maybe 5-10 games a year for me, and it certainly won't include MLB (which required a cable subscription if you wanted to purchase post season streaming this year. Seriously. F those guys)
  9. I know a nice house for sale out Unicorn Lake way.
  10. This is always my contribution to my friends of The Tribe this time of year.
  11. I'm so tempted to ask, "What's -----'s twitter look like?" but I'll defer to decorum and resist.
  12. I was sitting through eight hours of the most exhilarating tax update CPE imaginable during the presser, so didn't hear what he had to say. Hope you're correct.
  13. Biggest concern -- Not one time have I heard the word "defense" uttered since the announcement.
  14. So the statue should be of him in a t-shirt and khaki shorts.
  15. I believe we're paying Littrell roughly four times as much as we paid Dodge. I hope we're getting what we're paying for.
  16. The fact that we missed every shot we took makes us look like stormtroopers.
  17. I just don't know about this thread. Ricky V. Pfft. Everybody knows Ricky III was the best in the franchise. Mr. T was outstanding in that one!
  18. I agree with that assessment, but it's really hard for me to disagree with that line of questioning sometimes. Have you seen the state of our athletics? We really, really need someone here who can see past that and be able to build from the ashes. In my former life in sales, that was one of my specialties -- going into distressed, forsaken, nearly abandoned territories, and building them up again. People would ask me the same thing "Why would you go there?" My answer was the upside potential, which when realized, yielded mighty rewards indeed. I hope that Littrell is of this mindset and is already working on realizing that upside potential that we know is there but has been lying dormant for forty years.
  19. Spoke of building relationships with high schools, getting out there every week. Talked about evolving and adapting as a coach, didn't speak of a rigid system. Said he's glad to be home. He's from OK, and is most comfortable in blue jeans and cowboy boots. When talking about his "coaching tree," he said it's important to gain knowledge from everyone you work for. Made no mention of husbands or fathers, and only spoke of North Carolina's chances up to the ACC championship game when directly asked about it. Sounded like he had three cans of dip in his mouth. This guy really sounds like he's come here to build something, and he is not throwing out past laurels from other places upon which to rest. He sounds hungry. I like it.
  20. I say we look to North Carolina!
  21. Oops. I was going by the schedule on meangreensports and didn't notice that they haven't posted the SIU score. Also, my math is bad, my chart is bad, and I suppose I should feel bad.
  22. Margin of loss in this 5-game stretch has been by 2, 2, 12, 23, and 33 points. The slope is a pretty straight line. Dare we trend this out through March?
  23. With their victory in the CUSA championship, WKU comes in at #25 in the AP Poll. We can take from this game that a mere 2 years ago, Southern Miss was 0-12, and last night they played in the conference championship. Hope springs eternal (for decades on end) in Denton.
  24. Amateur lawyering aside, what are other options than CSC? And are those other options any better? I'd really like to stop laughing in the faces of the yellow jackets as they tell me I can't go say hi to a friend in a section otherwise completely devoid of people.
