  1. While I think that coaching salaries are waaaay over inflated right now, that is the going market rate for this level and this conference. I don't think they've got a choice in the matter.
  2. Man, I forgot how ridiculous Bo Jackson was in that game.
  3. Please. What are you, still doing cave drawings? Get with the times, man! Game simulations will be run on Tecmo Bowl!
  4. The ladies have made such incredible progress in the first year under Jalie. So far, she's looking like one hell of a hire.
  5. When I have $74 million, I'm getting a suite just for me. Big assed room built for 20. Just me.
  6. Will I still have to sit by you?
  7. I'm not even 100% sure that my tickets have been purchased since I joined a group thing at work. Nonetheless, when I net over $65 million after taxes tonight, I pledge to purchase and install chair backs for every seat in Apogee (handicapped concrete slabs and visitor section notwithstanding). I'll hire a third party company to do the installation and guarantee completion before the first game of the season in 2016.
  8. I saw that and liked it. I don't understand what happened, I don't understand why, and I certainly don't know what the background is, but it's no secret that the single biggest aspect of the game of basketball that prevents me from watching it on a regular basis is the fact that the last two minutes of every game ever played in the history of the universe take more time to complete than the first 38 because it's nothing more than intentional foul after intentional foul leading to six years of free throws. Whatever this call was, and I believe it was "intentional foul," it penalized the team doing the fouling by awarding both the shots and the ball. If this thing catches on, maybe there will be more action at the end of games and less standing around.
  9. Somehow, some way, since her first game in 2008, my daughter has STILL never seen a UNT basketball loss.
  10. We stopped by for the game. There are actually a few people here, but the atmosphere is far from electric. Rice is horrible. Like really, really bad. I think UNT wins this one.
  11. Can we continue to debate beer sales?
  12. We even very nearly share a name there, so...coincidence? I think not!
  13. Unrelated, that's a pretty decent looking stadium they've got. Why, it's even got the Jerry D. and Linda Gregg Fields Bobcat Stadium West Side Complex! Ohhh. Wait. Too soon?
  14. I want to see video of this kid getting blocked hard in the lane for the sole purpose of hearing the announcer say, "Down goes Frazier!"
  15. Hadn't thought of that name for a while. Go find her LinkedIn page and see what she's been up to since ascending to the lofty heights of D1 Women's Basketball Head Coach. Yikes.
  16. Todd Dodge to Allen? Question. No Info.
  17. Damn, dude. Littrell's not f'ing around here, is he? I think my top wishlist aspect before the coach was hired was that we get somebody out there pounding pavement, knocking on doors, and recruiting so damn hard that the dinner knives in Glen Gary Glen Ross are seen as little more than an afterthought for losers. Damn if he isn't stepping up to that plate.
  18. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong, because I very well may be, but I seem to recall that she was resistant to starting a football program at all at UTSA.
  19. Will they start playing slightly less dirty and thuggish now?
  20. As far as I can tell, he's still fighting deportation to the US, all the while, being held in a Mexican immigration detention facility, which @UNT90 points out, does not count toward the 120 days he'll likely eventually serve in the US. If he's being held in custody in Mexico, I cannot for the life of me understand why he'd be fighting deportation to the US. The charges aren't going to go away. Meanwhile, his mother's attorney says of her actions: I'm no lawyer, but holing up with your fugitive son, regardless of whether you were the brilliant mastermind behind it or not, seems like it would bring charges of some sort.
  21. A) At this point in his life, set financially, living the vodka fueled life of leisure in Florida, already suffered a stroke, why would he want to go back to the grind in cold weather Massachusetts? B) Oh. Have you ever BEEN to Boston? Dude. I swear to God they drink Irish Whiskey for breakfast in conference rooms there! (I'm really not kidding).
  22. I was in the company of Fly's father for the Stand. He played for the '57 Rice team that went to the Cotton Bowl. I didn't know I should taunt him or console him. I remained mostly silent. Mrs. Fly had no such reservations and taunted him mercilessly. It was pretty funny.
  23. I was about a year and a half into my master's program in our highly esteemed accounting program before anyone bothered to tell me I might ought could fill out an application for admission, please and thank you.
