2016 UNT Football Schedule is Out Now
oldguystudent replied to NTAlum09's topic in Mean Green Football
For all the Texas schools being on the road, I find this an attractive home schedule. Edit: However, I await to see how many conference home games are on Tuesday at four in the afternoon. -
He didn't mention anything about tweeting to the recruits. I'm on my way....

Note in the sentence prior to the one you bolded that I graduated from the accounting program. I'm aware of its status. Thought now that I've got a few years under my belt working, I wish they'd be a little more practical and a lot less theoretical, but that's just frustration venting with how we have to train interns to tie their shoes each and every year.

Be it perception or reality, it's a stat that aspiring high school students use as a metric to how competitive a school is. Kinda like how a winning football program doesn't make academics better, but it surely attracts more applicants, and therefore allows the university to select a higher caliber of student.

An illustrated progress on renewing 2016 season tickets

I received an email telling me they would call me today. If anybody thinks I should in any way apologize for this thread, I can guarantee it gained attention and has driven action. I try (not with 100% success) not to just blindly bash the program, but this particular issue is specific, and has been going on for the duration of my time here. If I've got to be the a-hole to get things moving and bring attention to the importance of customer service, I'll wear that badge with pride. -

To be fair, I don't think you would allow my favorite scene. -

If you recall, they tightened the policy in 2014 because people were making donations/paying mgc membership for 2 seats, then buying 2 more seats for their "guests" each and every game of the season. So they dropped it down to three games a year, and you were supposed to register your guests at the entrance to prevent any guest from attending more than one game. I've never, ever had them check guests at the front. -

Curious what will happen to the guest pass policy. Didn't need it at all last year, but if we ever start winning games, you never know. -

Interesting. I've only got two seats, so whatevs. I was just reading my agreement, and I explicitly have rights to purchase two seats because of the seat license I paid. Current agreement reads: Notice in bold, it says "at the required level." So the agreement in and of itself is in perpetuity, but the amount of mean green club membership is subject to change as it is not defined. I'm not aware of too many people that hold more than two seats to be honest, but I know they exist. From little more than observation, those tend to be in the more expensive seats closer to the fifty yard line. -

Let's follow this path 1) UNT needs money 2) I decide I'd like to give UNT money 3) UNT makes it very difficult for me to give them money 4) I become frustrated by this 5) UNT tells me I'm a bad fan/alumni/person for this 6) I eventually get it figured out and give UNT my money 7) UNT calls me a commoner, a plebeian, a dumbass, and clearly wants nothing to do with me now that they've got my inconsequential donation 8) We still suck. An illustrated progress on renewing 2016 season tickets

If true, I'm going to be quite miffed that I already renewed in December at what I thought was the appropriate level. Think I'd ever get that back? Yeah, neither do I. -

The issue is not can I figure this out. The issue is that UNT is actively soliciting me to renew, but makes me unable to do so. Also, I guess that if (when) they demand that I up my (already renewed) mean green club membership, I'll likely find myself priced out of my own seats. I've been concerned about this. I've got four years left on my stadium gift. If they require my mean green club donation to be a certain level, I'm likely to just throw my arms up in the air, let them continue taking the $86 a month out of my credit card through 2020, and walk away. I got a kid going to college (and likely TAMS) in the extremely near future. As in TAMS applications begin this July. Requiring me to up my contributions to athletics is about to become a much, much lower priority in my life. Sneaking around with all this cloak and dagger spy nonsense, donor class warfare, and hellaciously poorly run ticket office does not improve my perspective. -
I know a lot of people in their twenties that follow Premier and Championships Leagues. Many of them choose their team based on which jersey they like the best. They tend to avoid the big 4 teams in Premier because that's just too easy. They try to tell me that there's more scoring and a LOT less diving than the world cup, but I've never been inclined to purchase cable or get up at 3 in the morning to find a British friendly bar to watch the games. I've got nothing against soccer. Played it in high school and really enjoyed it, but I've just never been able to watch it. You'd think that with my love of baseball, attention span wouldn't be an issue, but it is because I don't understand the ongoing subtleties in soccer like I do in baseball. Nonetheless, I guess I'm glad it's growing. My other school has a really good men's team who often makes it to the sweet sixteen, so maybe sometime, it'll bring them prominence.

I've never tried that because one of the perks of membership is theoretically that if I want to purchase extra tickets, I can do so through my account and save the Ticketmaster fees. Thing is, it's historically been so difficult to accomplish this that I wonder if it might just be worth it to give Ticketmaster their seven bucks. I took a bunch of kids to a game in 2014 and bought them wingzone tickets. Wingzone tickets. General Admission. Like this is the easiest transaction on planet earth, right? It took several phone calls and a couple weeks to accomplish. Guest passes to the club are on par with this. I'm genuinely curious what the buying tickets at the gate experience is like. If it's anything like basketball, it must take twenty minutes, not counting any possible time standing in line.
