  1. Since when did he ever have club seats? He's a suite holder and is damn sure skippy renewing.
  2. I'm not sure that they wouldn't come after you for an entirely new stadium gift if you did that. No sarcasm in that statement. I honestly don't know if you would be able to keep your seat license after lapsing for a year.
  3. I can very confidently assure you that David isn't gonna take you for a ride. That said, counter tops ain't cheap, so get your checkbook all nice and greased up. His fabricators do really, really fine work.
  4. I feel a locked message board is in our future. Hell, I'm starting to think there's about to be a locked parking lot at Fouts and Apogee in our future.
  5. It's all about painting a mental image, friend.
  6. Meh. My tickets for 2016 are renewed, so I don't need to speak with anybody in the ticket office for another year. Not giving up my seats for anyone here. Not giving up my seats for anyone in the AD. I'm with Silver. This is my school, and these are my seats, in my little piece of real estate in my stadium. Everything else will come and go, but you can pry my seats out of my cold, dead ass.
  7. Meanwhile, some piss ant school out in Orange County that doesn't even have football is enjoying all-time high attendance. The fourth consecutive year of 20+ wins isn't hurting.
  8. Just sayin'. We didn't play FCS until Mac got here.
  9. I think all the FCS crap is signed through 2019, and was inked before Mac got the boot. Bethune Cookman, Lamar, Abilene Christian, and Incarnate Word, right? Hopefully, we'll play out these four games and move on from the nonsense. Hopefully. I still maintain that was a Mac thing, not an RV thing. We never had FCS at Fouts. At least not in the three years I sat watching the oracle pull defeats from the jaws of victory each week.
  10. 3-0. Victories in 2007, 2008, and 2009. The victory in 2010 was under Chico, much to the very loud, verbal disagreement from one Dodgy spousal unit.
  11. That Idaho presentation applying to remain a member of the Sun Belt is sad. How bad must you be when even Karl Benson doesn't really want you?
  12. I'm genuinely frightened that this team is going to be Dodge 2.0. Furious shootouts with no regard for defense.
  13. I think it's a fair increase, and have communicated that while I'm not subject to it for a period of time, I may voluntarily increase to that level...if they get their ticket office shit together. My beef has never been with wins and losses, but in basic operations. To clarify, for those of us still under initial capital contribution (I bought my own seats beginning January 2014), so long as our initial capital gift is still in effect, we have no change in our required minimum of $500.
  14. I'm gonna start drinking to get that image out of my head now.
  15. What's he do on 4th and inches at the opponent's five yard line with less than a minute to go and down by four?
  16. I doubt SMU has the clout to quash UNT joining the AAC, but I also doubt (highly) that UNT has anything to offer the AAC. TV market? SMU -- check. Recruiting area? SMU -- check. Net positive cash flow? You're kidding, right?
  17. To give credit where credit is due, Michael Smith called me today, and we got my seats renewed. Before anybody asks, I'm still under original contract, so no changes in my terms. I'm curious what lies ahead for others.
  18. With only six games left and virtually nothing to play for, I imagine Benford will finish out the season, pack four suits, wear one, fly home, and move on into the sunset, probably entitled to some sweet UNT employee retirement package. They'll name the floor in the "E" practice facility, Benford Court at the "E" because players will run all over it. Denton dry cleaners will rejoice because suit wearers will once again don their finest more than once a year. Locker room chemotherapy will become a thing of the past, future generations seeing it as a barbaric treatment for a horrible disease. Pamphlets are sure to fall from the sky describing this insane new NCAA rule call "Free Throws." Tony Mitchell will still be playing for tanks of gasoline in Venezuela, wondering what might have been if he'd maintained a cooler head, and had different guidance.
  19. I blame Jason Lee for this boundless gentrification. Also, why, good sir, would you list all of those things and exclude Oak Street and East Side? For all the good things happening in Denton, there will always be a special place in my heart for the enabling bartenders of II Charlies. They took me in the day I moved out of the house and on to life on my own. They knew I was coming in advance. I'm quite certain we broke a litany of laws that day, and I'll be forever grateful.
  20. Definitely not a revenue sport, but definitely not a money pit. The limit of 11.7 scholarships makes baseball pretty damn affordable. At least until the SEC finally gets its way in the off season meetings.
  21. I'm not a comic book super hero thing fan at all, but this movie looks pretty damn good.
  22. Man, The Tomato still existed by the time I'd moved to TX, but I had no association with Denton or UNT at the time. Wish I'd gotten to experience it.
  23. I can go one better. I recall when our crosstown Orange County rivals, Cal State Fullerton, opened up their shiny new 10,000 seat football stadium for the 1992 season. The Titans played four games in that stadium (seven road games), then dropped football at the end of the 1992 season.
  24. I saw four movies in 2015. In chronological order: Big Eyes -- disappointing and boring Straight Outta Compton -- Made me nostalgic for 80s and early 90s LA. Star Wars -- I'm not the world's biggest Star Wars geek by any means, so I didn't scrutinize it and just enjoyed the ride Hateful 8 -- I'm a huge Tarantino fanboy and saw this one twice. Fastest three hours ever. Twice. Shut up. I loved it. Don't judge me.
