I believe it. I completely missed it though. Only had this particular segment to go off.
-
Corby really sounded like he wanted to move on in that segment. I enjoy his remarks on music and entertainment, but when it comes to college sports, if it ain't Alabama/Oklahoma/giant P5 of the week, he wants nothing to do with it.

Remember that show in the eighties Dick Clark's Television Bloopers? I still remember this one. Nine-year-old me thought this was about the funniest thing in the history of the universe. Go to about 1:18 if the time thingamajig in the link doesn't do it for you:

There is a noticeable and comedic sound edit right around the :10/:11 mark in that video.

Terry Bradshaw still lives in Denton County, doesn't he? I wonder if Tech will trot him out there. I'd think that would be pretty cool.

I just got called into HR for sexually assaulting my work monitors. I regret nothing.

Well it certainly isn't the SEC. They clearly can't provide the competition we need.

I think that might break the Eagle's Nest.

TV Coverage Upgrade for Rest of Season?
oldguystudent replied to Mike Jackson's topic in Mean Green Football
I watched on desktop on watchespn.com and had to refesh a couple of times, but other than that it worked fine. I read somewhere that the desktop web player is outdated technology, so struggles quite a bit. -
It may be time to look into expanding Apogee

I get that and agree. The question was more generalized across the NCAA if basketball facilities have been enjoying the monster upgrades that football has. -
It may be time to look into expanding Apogee
oldguystudent replied to ADLER's topic in Mean Green Football
I have been proven to be in the minority here by great margins, but my impressions of my one trip to UTA's joint were that I felt like I was watching a game in Disneyland's Toontown. The taco coupon farting blimp was the component that really put things over the edge for me. As to basketball facilities as a whole across the NCAA, don't multiple blue chip programs play in rickety old warehouses under the guise of "Tradition and history?" With all the facilities arms races that have been going on in football (and to a lesser extent, baseball), has the same thing been happening with basketball? I don't follow the sport much, so I could entirely be speaking out my sphincter, but it doesn't seem so to me. -

I kinda think that giving me a fully funded fellowship and making me chancellor of the UNT system is higher up on the list than a baseball program. -
Blue parking at Apogee worth the extra $$
oldguystudent replied to Ken14's topic in Mean Green Football
Since we've started actually having fans show up at games, the physical limitations of that two-lane road into the entrance have rendered the Bonne Brae entrance akin to stuffing a bushel of watermelons into a salt shaker. Short of massive infrastructure expansion, I don't know how to realistically improve on the situation. I've been using the North Texas Blvd entrance this year. I am greatly relieved that they're allowing that again. There have been times where they didn't have it open, or they would tell me it was for red passes only when mine was blue even though it was the same freaking parking lot. (I may or may not have just blown right past them once or twice when they tried to pull that nonsense). If they separate passes from cash in that entrance, I anticipate things will be much smoother. I admit that I was a little miffed that my "premium" parking pass that comes with my "premium" season tickets was no more valuable than a twenty spot at the SMU game. Kudos the the AD for immediately sending out an email addressing the situation the following Monday after listening to feedback. -

Is there a video this week? I've grown to admire those guys' commentary. -
I dunno know man. I'm just not sure about that.

Apparently a couple people completely failed to see any humor in the comment whatsoever. I need to work on my comedic chops. Thanks, I'm here every Thursday. Don't forget to tip your server and drive home safely!

La Tech Previews & Predictions
oldguystudent replied to Philip Ferguson's topic in Mean Green Football
I've had a long standing offer to make anybody who is interested a millionaire. Here's how it works. You give me $110. I go and place ten $10 bets at sports book and bring you my tickets. You then take $1,100 and make ten $100 bets in the opposite direction. Since my first legal sports bet in 1993, I have never won a single bet. Not...one...single...bet. My plan is fail safe and will make you independently wealthy. -
Ray is a positive vote and as I understand things, represents a sentimental/nostalgic reaction.

Blue lot opens at 7 a.m. on game day. That part I know for sure. In years past, you could drop stuff off on Friday, and if you're @emmitt01, set up camp and intoxicating green Kool-Aid. No idea if that part is still true.
