Praise in public, criticize in private
oldguystudent replied to UNT90's topic in Mean Green Football
That's an interesting question. I know that in theory I can buy guest passes to the club, but I have no idea if I'm able to purchase extra parking passes, and if so, must they be coupled with extra tickets? I'd call the ticket office and ask, but, I've only got so many years remaining to live on this planet and getting the answer might exceed that. -
Depends on your comfort zone and definition of personal space, buddy.

Compromise. BYU Idaho.

I have considered in my head throwing in some cash towards a percentage interest in a holding LLC. It all sounds nice in theory, but then I recoil when I think about human nature on such matters, even with the best of intentions laid.

It's absolutely on roku, so while I don't have a smart TV, I'd assume it must be available.

So there's a commercial free option for hulu plus now? I honestly can't entirely remember what year I tried the free trial. Somewhere 2012 or thereabouts. It was so awful at the time that I've never even remotely considered it since.

Rebuilding trust within the North Texas fanbase

This juxtaposition of athletics and academics amuses me. I've had some criticisms on UNT admissions and academic policies before and gotten just absolutely hammered for it before. First, they are two very different aspects of the same university. One can be successful without the other. They are not inherently interdependent. Overall, UNT ain't Harvard. It's never gonna be Harvard. But it is one HELL of a pragmatic option for higher education. The degrees work. Graduates from the accounting department have a great reputation. We hired three of them this spring, and all three are outright superstars. Sure, we don't exactly get to hang poster boy t-shirts on our walls, but we kinda run the freaking joint. Assuming any one person has been working for a few years and out of university, work experience and performance far supersedes seal on a diploma. Take a breath out there, people. Life's to short to hate everyone and everything. Step away. Eat a snickers.- 103 replies

Man I wish I could buy it. Even if I could get the scratch together, I'd have nowhere to store it. It's so beautiful.

Netflix has more original content. Prime's big plus is that they got all the HBO series. Sopranos, Boardwalk Empire, True Blood, etc. But even without the streaming, Prime is absolutely worth the money. The free two-day shipping is life changing. Here in Lewisville, we're so close to the distribution warehouse, that it's often free one-day shipping or sometimes even free same-day shipping.

The interface was horrible, and even with Hulu Plus, there were more commercials than content. I'm talking maybe three minutes of content against six minutes of commercials trying to get through a half hour episode of any show. It was unwatchable.

If I ever decide to stream ESPN, it'll be through Sling TV. My experiences with Hulu have been so horrendous that I quit my free trial many days before it was over.

Just looked at the 2015 Big Sky football standings. I guess I'd never really thought about who is in that conference. Idaho's going to fit nicely in there. New Mexico St seems to be a little geographically out of place, but that's going to be true wherever they should end up. I do wonder if this is the beginning of a trend, although I've always looked at Idaho, its location, and its resources, and wondered what it's been doing in FBS. No looking down on them in that at all. They're a fine program for the resources they've got and their fans were a#1 ok in my book.

Apathy is a good word. I feel numb to all of it. I keep paying, keep going back, not angry, but neither am I excited. It just...is. -
Oh. Charges dropped. Sometimes the wheels of justice turn so slowly that they don't turn at all. http://www.collegian.psu.edu/news/crime_courts/article_5db1d8ec-c137-11e5-a581-ef767970660b.html

Pretty sure was a snarky post referring to earlier posts by people who hate everything UNT so much that they feel FCS stadiums are better than Apogee.

I'm looking, and I can't find FCS stadiums better than Apogee. 2014 list of best FCS stadiums. I mean, I know this is the anthem for many around here lately: But Apogee in and of itself is not the correct of your ire. Take aim at scheduling, impossibility of purchasing tickets, yellow jacket seating nazis in crowds of 15 people. But the stadium itself is top notch. When I go to a road game (Including Ford down SMU way), I look at the stadium and truly think to myself, "This isn't nearly as nice as Apogee."

I dunno. After the last two regimes, I'd say coaching is pretty important. Not in 100 years would Dodge win at the college game. He just refused to understand the game at that level. But then Mac was able to take Dodge's players and win with them (I mostly give credit to Skladany for that). Then, with Mac, when the Grey Goose took control, I think we could've had Joe Montana, Joe Theisman, Roger Staubach, Troy Aikman, and Bart Starr on the roster, all 21 years old, and Mini Mac would still have started every game.

Five observations from the North Texas spring game

I wonder if five years from now, we'll be making revisionist history about Mac and how we could've won a national championship with him only if, if, and if.- 44 replies

There's a death march? LUXURY! I've felt like a Walker from the Walking Dead for quite some time. I feel nothing, I see nothing, I know nothing. I'm just hungry.

Five observations from the North Texas spring game
oldguystudent replied to GMGEagle's topic in Mean Green Football
2008 PAT% was 78.6 (22 of 28) 2009 PAT% was 87.5 (35 of 40) 2008 FG% was 70.6 (12 of 17) 2009 FG% was 66.7 (10 of 15) The kicking game was just awful, earning the nickname "Knott Good" Adding to this, how many times did we kick off out of bounds? I don't know where to even begin to look for those stats.- 44 replies
