  1. The way that guy runs defense, I'm kinda surprised he didn't end up at Austin Westlake.
  2. He's DC for the Richmond Spiders, a perennial FCS playoff team and 2008 national champion. Now I've got to start watching them to see how far they fall.
  3. There is a morbid part of me that wants to see it seriously screwed up with nothing until maybe 25% of tickets get mailed on September 2nd, most without parking passes. Sometimes, I just want to see the world burn.
  4. Somebody asked about that at that meeting in the club in June. Littrell responded that he went out and found the defensive coaches that he hated playing against. He kinda acknowledged that he's an offensive guy, so he's properly delegating authority on the defense. I wouldn't hope for miracles this season because we just don't have the roster, but his statements on the matter do give me hope going forward.
  5. That is a fine idea, and I would genuinely appreciate the reminder when he's up and running.
  6. It's kinda fun to bash people who are nearly certain to be on their merry way of of Denton. With that, I feel it need be said that of all the AD employees, the guy who consistently saw to it that I ultimately got what I needed, be it tickets, parking passes, guest passes, credit card set up for auto-pay, whatever, whether it was his job or not, was/is Reggie Johnson. The guy ended up giving me his personal cell phone number, and was tireless in making sure everything got taken care of. And he does it with a smile. I messaged once about something in November, and Reggie got back to me personally ON THANKSGIVING DAY! I said, "Reggie! It's Thanksgiving! What are you doing!" "Just making sure you got what you need! Thank you for all you do for North Texas!" If we're gonna lobby for people to get kicked to the curb, I'm gonna lobby for Reggie to stick around and keep doing his thing.
  7. Guys, it's the ticket office! I'm sure everything will be fine!
  8. Welp, it's finally happened. I'm older than both the football coach and the AD.
  9. Would somebody please get Brett a parking pass and a bottle of warm fuzzies?
  10. I can't make this game. Two club seats and a red/blue parking pass. My actual cost is $125. One club guest pass without parking was $90 last year. Make me an offer. Edit: Spoken for. Thanks for playing.

  11. What is that, like a Granbury Haiku?
  12. Reggie is the shining beacon in the athletic department who's probably unwittingly personally responsible for my not giving up entirely.
  13. There are several shades of green on that website, primary and secondary. Doesn't seem like anybody has ever been able to choose one. They also seem to change about every sixteen minutes.
  14. Jesus. No wonder nobody ever matches.
  15. Kick 'em while they're down but the general population still perceives them as a great team? That would be pretty sweet.
  16. Ain't nothin' official til it's official. Recall the Ticket calling Fran the basketball coach THE MORNING OF THE DAY THEY HIRED BENFORD. PTSD tells me to wait until I see an official UNT press conference with a microphone and green sweater vests.
  17. Can't wait to get priced out of my club seats. Gonna be awesome.
  18. I await final announcement. Early breaking MGB stories had Fran (is that the right name) as the 100% for sure basketball head coach and Doug Meacham as the football coach. I wasn't around, but I'd wager the MGB announced Jim Harbaugh as the football coach for the 2007 season too. My faith lies in my perception that I don't see any dicking around or political capital hunting on this.
  19. OK. That makes sense. Thanks.
  20. Doesn't ring a bell, but that doesn't necessarily exclude it. I started purposely going home via side streets and trying different places several times a week.
  21. I despised working in downtown Ft. Worth for a lot of reasons, not the least of which was the 33-mile each way commute along what was then a heavily under construction 183/121. However, because the traffic was so terrible, I started exploring highway 10 and highway 26 and highway 377. My God, man. There is some righteous, and I do mean righteous Mexican food on what would otherwise be defunct highways in Fort Worth! 201 Dallas Dr, Denton, TX 76205 Enjoy yourself! It's right good there!
  22. My daughter and I have been cheating on La Sabrocita since we discovered La Estrella. My daughter has actually expressed a tinge of guilt at this, but then when I give her the option of the two, she chooses the latter every time now.
  23. Why would they make their outdoor practice facility natural grass when 99% of college stadiums (including theirs) are field turf?
  24. I posted this on facebook once and got something like 500 likes. I only have about 250ish friends!
