I am nearly certain that the very first football ticket I ever bought, a general admission ticket for my daughter for the Tulsa game in 2008, was sold to me at a premium from the ticket office because it was a "premier game." It sucked too because I was so miserably broke back then that the $25 I paid (after "convenience fees" for walking my ass over to the ticket off) was a whole lot more money than I could comfortably spend at the time.

This greatly offended Baylor fans on r/cfb who also thought it was swell and dandy that Art Briles showed up in the Baylor stands and all the Baylor fans gave him a standing ovation. I've never had any particular hostility toward Baylor before. They've been wonderful hosts at baseball the times I've gone down there. But they seem to have lost their way. That taste of success can really blur perspective, can't it?

I've been saying that for a while, but people don't want to hear that. The graduate school of business was pretty much open enrollment to anybody with a checkbook during my time of 2008-2011. I asked them what kind of score I needed on the GMAT. The answer was 25th percentile. That doesn't mean the top 25%. It means better than the bottom 25%. I know that they began to seriously reconsider when they saw the students in the classroom.

USC isn't a directional school at all. Like you said, they're a private institution that happens to have Southern in their name. They are not a satellite campus of a greater state university. North Texas isn't a satellite campus of a greater state university either, but it sounds like it is, and the football has been dreadful, so it gets lumped in.

I get that, but also consider that we pay out $500K against that $1M we take in. Again, relative to overall cash flows, it just isn't as big as it once was. If TheWren™ isn't able to net an additional $500K some other way, I'd actually be surprised.

Hasn't it already? Isn't revenue considerably more than $1M greater than five years ago? Yet we keep chasing that $1M paycheck? Revenue $10? Get that extra million. Revenue $28M? Get that extra million. Relative to overall revenue, it just makes less and less sense to me.

I noticed that too and still wonder why it's taken six years to accomplish and if it will continue to work if we ever see another 20K+ crow this year. It almost seems contingent on available cell tower bandwidth, which seems to me to be a serious design flaw.
