Yes, Saturday was very encouraging. I don't care who we beat, whether it was western kentucky or western bungholio, it was a win. And it came down to a final play, a defensive stop. What a great way to win your first game. While Smitty, Shaft, and Jay Dub always try to get on here and bring us down with their negative attitudes, I'm not going to let that happen this week. Go Mean Green!

ok, well you guys have fun bashing Dodge for the rest of the season. I'll make sure and point out in three years when we're winning the sun belt again the individuals that were calling for his head today.

Too many people on this board pretend to know more about football than coach Dodge. I'd like to see the playbook for the last GMG game or whatever you guys call that stupid flag football game yall play. I'm sure Dodge could use your advice.

I'm not talking about the drug story. I understand that this needed to be reported. I'm talking about the attitude most people have on this board. Everyone acts like they could make better decisions than our athletic director and head coach. The fact is you are not an AD, have never been an AD, and will never be an AD. The fact is you are not a head coach, have never been a head coach, and will never be a head coach. So, how do you know what this team and program needs to do? Yes, we're taking our licks right now. But less than two years ago everyone was excited about Dodge and where he was going to take our program. Now, because we have undiciplined and untalented upperclassmen and are experiencing growing pains we stop supporting our leaders? I'm just as frustrated by this season but can we wait for Dodge's first class to graduate before we evaluate the job he's done with our program?

I just don't understand why so many on this board are butt buddies with Vito. He's a journalist; who cares? Why would you chose to support a journalist over a head coach? Why can no one respect Dodge for cleaning up this mess and trusting that while it may take a couple years to flush the crap down the toilet, when it's out the bathroom will start smelling better? Instead some turn on our coach and back a sports writer. I just don't get it.

I would say the only problem I have with these comments would be "The team has been closer to winning than what we know." What exactly does that mean? Are they almost scoring touchdowns that we don't see? Or, are players almost getting open for big gains? All that to say I again feel we're in the right direction and we can't go anywhere but up, right?

I was unable to make it to the Rice game but read that you were wearing something us geeks would recognize you by. I know what some of you guys look like but have yet to see Daddy D. Are you wearing that to the home games as well or will it just be an "away" jersey?

This whole story is just an indication of where our program is at. The players are starting to feel this is a waste of their time. Not good.

For those who have been down there for a game where's a good place to stay. I'm not looking for a roach motel but something for 5 guys to cram into for one night that's pretty cheap.

i haven't heard anything to suggest that the game might be moved but just wanted to make sure my trip to Houston next weekend was still going to involve a football game.

gagreed. the student side looked great. and it was hard to be upset with a lot leaving at halftime. but i was glad to see that sections fill up.

What hisses me off about the whole thing was the drumline. Were they not told what was going on? Does the athletic department not know what the band does every game? How was this not thought through? What if you march the band on the field like normal and then announce the video while they stand there and wait to begin their show? The only way you saw or noticed the video was if you were looking for it. On a side note, that new stadium's going to look great on NCAA 2011!

And this is a bad thing? I would hope that TD puts his relationship with his son ahead of his job as our football coach. Some of you guys make me laugh. And I'd like to think that if TD ever takes another coaching position elsewhere that he'd wait until our season was over to make the move.

Guys, honestly it was a surprising move. When he got that reverse everyone around me was screaming and going crazy because it looked like he scored and it looked like we actually had some speed on the field. Then my brother says the unthinkable, "hey, that was Riley." Instantly all of us were quite. It was like some one had taken away our 2008 Christmas. But tell me if I'm wrong, the highlight of the night was getting excited when #11 came into the game. Dodge needs players on the field. Dodge needs guys out there who don't know how to lose. Riley is one of those guys. I watched Riley after the game. Following the alma mater another player came up to him to give him a five and probably say "good game." He didn't return the favor. He was very upset and I needed to see that. I want those guys on the field.

maybe if Beer Man played a set inside the stadium before kickoff some of the full-time tailgaters would actually come inside for the game.
