wow. haven't looked at their entire schedule but no doubt they figured to be 2-0 at this point. whoops.

I would say that Ohio does have more name recognition than Florida International or Arkansas State. Does it share the same value as Ohio State? Of course not. But I know many casual fans who still think of the Sunbelt as the dumping ground of college football. They don't really follow the sport enough to see how improved the conference is. So, bringing in ANYONE from a higher rated conference seems to these fans like a bigger name. It also helps for it to have been the home opener. Had it been November I doubt we have that turnout. Especially with it being televised.

I'm glad this topic is being discussed. I too ended up on the student side because I was too wet to want to walk over to the alumni side. I was worried that even though there were a lot more tailgating than I had thought considering the weather that still a lot wouldn't come to the game. So, I was very encouraged by the turn out on the student side. But like many have said there were times when I was embarrassed to be over there. When students begin challenging the opposing team to 'come up here you pu $$ y' I feel it's gone too far. What I thought was a large amount of people flashing the Diamond Dallas Page sign I quickly figured out was a nice guesture to I believe #64.

how about not only providing a winable schedule but opening up on the first thursday of college football? had this ball state game been played saturday it would have been buried even in local newspapers.

Men (and ladies), while it's been great not having to read the negativity that surrounds this board and endure the daily mean greenie fights I've decided that in the spirit of kickoff cookout I'd return to wish everyone a happy kickoff. Now you can get back to arguing which dancer is hotter, which baby deserves a calendar more, and which of you gives more to your university.

I've enjoyed spending several years with you guys but it's time for me to say goodbye. I have in recent weeks found that some of you on here get me so fired up (mad) that time away is the only solution. For those with whom I have open feuds (Daddy Dumps, j0na8han, etc) I ask that you accept my apology. Negativity and fighting, while I've contributed, is no longer what I want to read everyday. With that said, have fun and I'll see you guys at the games.

exactly my point. i read this board while at work. i don't have the time to read a 300 page essay saying the same things everyone else has said.

yes please. when you become a college coach or scout and actually visit and are involved in the recruiting process i will listen to what you have to say. we all understand how this works. i'm sorry you wasted so much time typing up that post but everything you said is common sense. for those of us football fans the recruiting time period is what gets us to the spring game. getting excited about these prospects and playing the "wish list" game is more enjoyable than watching the mavs su ck it up. so please don't act like you're the only person on this board with a clue.
