  1. This is shocking. Why in the world wouldn't we be in the bottom 10? I guess we really are a big time program.
  2. why would anyone be putting much stock in what orangebloods.com is reporting?
  3. I don't think Daddy D is referring to anyone who would be reading this board. Look at our enrollment. look at our attendance. There are 25k students every semester who could get in free to the games but don't show up. Daddy is talking about those 25k.
  4. I've been trying to get the Dodge haters to understand this for nearly two years. They won't listen. But good try.
  5. Great point. Having a different offensive philosophy than your favorite 2 TE/3 FB set is the result of having no stones. Got it.
  6. You're both wrong.
  7. As Mean Green 93-98 said the perception of the WAC is better than the Belt. Everyone, excluding Sun Belt fans, would hear the news and see it as a move up for North Texas. That's a fact.
  8. I agree the CUSA would be a great fit. But do we agree going to the WAC would be moving up? I wouldn't want to pass up the opportunity to move up hoping to get into CUSA.
  9. I love our program and I enjoy supporting it. But what I don't understand is why so many here say we need to act as if we are a big time program. What defines 'big time?' Are all division 1 schools 'big time' programs? Sadly I would never classify us as a big time program. Not yet. Hopefully one day. But becoming a big time program doesn't start with it's fan base just pretending until everyone else catches on. It starts with building facilities (check), playing other big time programs, and winning those games. We are on our way but until we can beat BCS conference schools we aren't on their level. Sorry.
  10. "Xbox users who want to watch live games via Xbox Live must receive their Internet service from those same ESPN affiliates and must also be Xbox Live Gold members." This is what's frustrating about ESPN3.com. I'd pay for the 'channel' but can't switch my internet service to one of their affiliates.
  11. It never gets old. Oh wait, the anti-dodge comments on every thread got old two years ago. He either wins this year or he's gone. That's the fact. So how many of you are now cheering for our failure next season just to get him out of here?
  12. I thought he left because NT didn't offer the program he became interested in. Maybe I just figured that was the case.
  13. Good idea guys. Lets view someone's honest question as an opportunity to trash a kid who felt it was in his best interest to pursue a degree rather than a football career. Got to love GMG in the offseason.
  14. Now, THAT is a true statement. If we're short sighted we're bummed because there may not be room for us to move anywhere in the next couple years. But if we can continue to build the program, as we have the past 5 years, we may work our way into position to make an even greater leap five years or so from now.
  15. Just because we're currently part of the Sun Belt conference doesn't mean we have to be in love with the Belt. We don't have to pretend that if CUSA or WAC extended an offer to us we'd 'have to think about it.' I agree the Belt has gotten better. But still the only people who know that are fans of programs within the Belt. As I've said before, I don't know that any of this matters if everything's headed to the super conference but those who are trying to convince themselves that the Sun Belt is just as good as CUSA or the WAC will be jumping up and down if we were to move. Of this I am sure.
  16. if everything is headed to the super conference, and we're very unlikely going to be invited into one of those, what's the point of moving to another conference? seems at that point either you're in a super conference or your not. and if you're not, you don't matter.
  17. We are the Sunbelt!
  18. how embarassing is it that this collection of misfits is referenced under 'where do north texas fans congregate?'
  19. I assume these magazines are going with the odds rather than even looking into the sunbelt teams. My guess is Troy or MUTS are predicted winners every time. Why? Because it's easy to pick them to win and the odds are in their favor.
  20. Did Hall ever lead a team to a bowl victory? A win over a team we weren't supposed to beat? I'm not trying to hate on the guy because I loved the intangibles he had as a leader and winner. But the teams that won during the Dickey era did so with great defense and an awesome running attack. I'm serious when I say that I believe Nathan Tune could've led one of those teams to a Sunbelt title.
  21. or between daddy dump and green p1
  22. After thinking about my pervious comment I'm going to take back what I said. We need more playmakers at that position and I think I'd prefer someone who wants to score.
  23. Woa. I had no idea this joke thread may produce a foot race between members. Can I sell tickets?
  24. Is anyone else still worried about Riley's tendency to try and make the big play every time he gets the ball? I love that he wants to score every play but I'd still like to see him protect the ball more.
