I love getting info and good discussion from message boards but HATE that some people use their anonymity to act like fools. Shaft, DallasGreen, Adub, MeanGreenBob wouldn't dare speak about or to someone the way they phrase their comments here. Sad, just sad. If you're goal was to get me offsides consider it a success. But YOU are 'incredibly weak.' Not Riley.

Guys lets be honest, if a high school chose to build a huge stadium on your doorsteps you'd be upset as well. These people have the right to be upset but also no one to blame. It's not their land. I feel bad for those who have no connection to UNT because I'm sure it will be inconvenient on game day. I've had a baby who woke up at every little noise outside and know the frustration of the next door neighbors throwing a loud party when I'm trying to keep my baby asleep. I can't imagine what this may be like for them on game day. BUT it is only 6 or 7 days out of the year. My point, let's not trash a bunch of people we don't even know.

Can we win the Sunbelt tourney first?

Did I make the list? I don't feel like clicking on the link.

Q & A With Mwc Commissioner Craig Thompson
eppy4life replied to MeanGreen61's topic in Mean Green Football
I think the Sunbelt's perception of being the worst conference has nothing to do with talent or ability on the football field. It's the simple fact that this is where schools enter D1. Our schools are the least recognizable and to the average football fan are all directional schools that are barely in division 1. -
For Those Who Think The Belt's Perception Is Changing
eppy4life replied to eppy4life's topic in Mean Green Football
Yes, you can. That's exactly where I stand. I don't hate the belt because, like I've said before, I believe it to be the best place for us right now. But I don't love the belt either and won't defend it's place amoung the football conferences. I may have a job I don't love but understand that it's the best place for me right now. Same idea. -
Probably my least favorite writer. Not even going to give his link a click.

Congrats?

Forgive me if this is being talked about on the 8 page LSU thread but I'm now worried that the win in Baton Rouge opened their eyes to JJ again. If he were to leave us after this season would we also lose our FR class next season?

Broke my leg in a car accident in 1989 and still remember the recovery process. Not sure of the details here but I know it can be difficult.

For Those Who Think The Belt's Perception Is Changing
eppy4life replied to eppy4life's topic in Mean Green Football
Of course after two years of not getting to play in bowl games fans would look back to the days of success and wish we were still there. What I meant was that while we were dominating the Sunbelt EVERYONE felt we were better than what the Belt had to offer (clearly if you looked at our record) and felt we should be in a better conference. Please understand, I'm not complaining about being in the Belt, and I'm not saying that the Belt hasn't gotten a lot better, I'm simply saying that it is recognized as the worst conference in division 1 football (or whatever it's called now). Whether we beat up the WAC/MAC each year or not, the perception hasn't changed. Maybe it will someday, but I doubt it. -
Not this thread again!! Haven't we all stated our opinions on the intro video 10+ times now? It's like jersey talk, conference talk,... well, I guess it's like every other thread on here in the offseason, just reworded conversation from past threads.

I remember after winning the belt 4 straight years everyone wanting to get out while we could. -

Now those two wins in one season sure would help. -

I'm not complaining about our home, I agree it's the best place for us right now. I'm simply trying to combat those who argue the greatness of the Belt. We can agree that it's a good fit right now without pretending that it's something it's not. -
For those who didn't watch the game, late in the game while Northern Illinois was running the clock out they began talking about the win and what it meant to their program and their conference. Last year the MAC ended a double digit bowl game losing streak (I forget the exact number) when Central Michigan beat Troy in the GMAC bowl. After talking about that streak coming to an end last year, one of the announcers said something like 'But this win is huge because it's comes against a national program... not just a Sunbelt team.' Even our most recognized program nationally gets zero respect for a MAC/WAC audience.

But I don't like the songs they play and when they play them

I, for one, am thankful this Christmas season that none of you are designing our new uniforms or have any input in the decision. Some of the stuff you come up with would keep me away from the games.

We have a great logo. The eagle looks fantastic. I say leave the jersey as it is. What we have now is so much better than what it looked like before. I'd prefer the eagle on the helmet but I understand the purpose of the script. And for pete's sake don't change the color green. I already have a bunch of NT shirts I can't wear anymore that are the dark green. Plus, lets be honest, the kelly looks better.

So Long To The Mean Green Club Deck?
eppy4life replied to FirefightnRick's topic in Mean Green Football
To me, the worst part of this news is the viewing of the stadium from the offices. I thought that was going to be real nice for coaches/admin. I could care less about those whining about the deck. It's really just something to whine about when there's nothing on the field to complain about.
