i agree with this statement. But I have a feeling if Leach had come here and won without class few would be complaining.

Let's not diminish his ability. I thought he was poised to REALLY break out this year. But his previous level of production can be replaced by our current roster.

Not sure. Again, I'm not hating on coach Mac. I know we're headed in the right direction under him. But given the option between the two I think Leach ramps up recruiting quicker, gives us a bigger name in college football, and some much needed swagger in the Sunbelt. I hesitate even responding because there's really no point in even having this discussion and Coach Mac is the freakin man.

Those who say they don't want Leach are out of their mind. I love the Coach Mac hire but would take on Leach any day. I want to win and honestly, I feel more confident Leach would bring that than Coach Mac. That said, I agree, Leach wouldn't come here for what we're paying. Period. It was never an option. Lets all buy an extra set of season tickets and maybe things will change.

Or maybe they agreed with the AD but were too scared of your fire helmet to tell you that. Less Boomer please.

I couldn't agree more. There's more put into a decision on the helmet than which looks better.

An unrecognizable eagle logo? Sure. Like a generic paw print plastered on the side of a helmet, an eagle doesn't exactly clue anyone into which school is being shown. Look, I'm not saying that North Texas script looks better than our SOW. I'm simply pointing out the benefit to having it on our helmets.

It's not about those who will stop down and watch our TV games. The purpose is to get our name to those who would never watch a game. It's for exactly this reason. This and highlight packages.

Listen, if he plays well this summer and in the spring and he's projected as a lottery pick there's no reason he should stay. But in my mind, he'd already have accomplished his goal. Take all the attention from a very young group of players and make it easier for our other fr studs to transition. I'm not worried about our team post Mitchell in 2012-13.

Does this video alone prove to some why RV may want 'North Texas' on our helmets? Had our SOW been on there most would think that was video of one of the generic NCAA D-2 schools with an eagle mascot.

Good point. I can shake my pom poms with the best of them. But not many seem to enjoy it.

I think the perception that most students are at UNT as a second choice would only come from the sports fan or the guy who grew up assuming he'd attend the school he'd followed his whole life. So they may sort of feel like UNT was a second choice. But for the majority, they didn't grow up with a choice school in mind. Once senior year came they looked around and chose UNT as the best fit for whatever reason.

What about 'All Pro Foundation Field?' Not really, but I love hearing mean green pub with every commercial Tony Cooper has out there.
