actually he did...it just has not improved in wins and losses...yet

It's just being a loyal fan to UNT. No, it is not easy being an all-weather fan right now...in fact, it sucks at times...but we need to support our team on the field each and every week. Hopefully Dodge will turn it around...maybe he won't...can't stop cheering for the Mean Green

Kudos to the Mean Green faithful. I thought the turn out was good for UNT fans...any thoughts on how many were there... 200, 300?

very fun game! This was my first trip to UTA and the stage. We did get seats behind the team on the top row of the bleachers. That reminded me alot of the Snake Pit game last season. From our standpoint, it was awesome. The crowd in the seats were a non-factor to getting into the game. Personally, it was a terrible venue unless you were sitting in the bleachers. The game itself was a blast to be apart of. Congrats to the team and coaches!!! Way to stay with it and finish! Go Green

Thanks for the tips. I did call our ticket office and we are not selling any away game tickets. I also called UTA and they don't pre-sell any tickets...you have to buy them at the door on game day. Just fyi.
-
thanks. is it general seating there or do they have a special visiting team section?
-
I have never been to a game at UTA...is it better to buy tickets through our ticket office or just at the gate????

this is a dumb reply fishing to blame Dodge...Defence is Deloach

This is a great idea. My wife and I will be bringing our kids to the game so this will be fun. No costumes though...in order to pee, they have to take the entire costume off...way too much for Daddy to do when there is tailgating and football watching going on.

You are right...there should not be excuses. I certanily don't make any. I agree we should have won more games this year but we haven't. Dickey was a long time ago and Dodge's system should be working...well, in my opinion, it is starting to work. We are much improved from last year when we did hit rock bottom. Obviously our record does not show that currently. At least the team stayed in to compete in games we should compete in. There is obviously a lot of work to be done to fix the mistakes. I do believe that we have some wins still to get this year...and when that happens, the confidence will blossom in the team and staff and our program will be back on track.

This board can easily become a broken record...fire Dodge, fire RV, Tune is average, crucify Riley, bitch, bitch, bitch...please give it a rest. Now I realize that our team's results stink right now...I'm just as frustrated and upset. However, let's look at the remaining schedule. It appears that Monroe is our toughest opponent (maybe Army too). We have winnable games left and with how competitive we have been in the majority (yes competitive) of our games this year, we stand a chance to win 2 or 3 more. That's a 4 win season and moving in the right direction. What possible good could come from firing anyone right now half way through the season...nothing. We could and should finish on an upswing and be building to a great next year. 4 wins would be a good year for us considering the debacle Dickey left. We have 2 stud receivers coming in next year which should be a great boost. Only one more year in Fouts...natural boost. We all know that winning cures all...I believe that will start this weekend...see you at Fouts.

yep, this first half of the season has been more than frustrating. Along with you, my heart sank last night watching our boys give up another one...one that we should have won. Kudos to the effort in the 2nd half to come back...that was fun to watch and be apart of. I very much enjoyed watching Tune and his composure lead our team back into the game. He is good and should play more in my opinion. Riley could be a good QB, but from our limited exposure to him and his fragile body, it's hard to tell. He may make a better receiver which is what he would have been if he had stayed with Texas. I do look for a couple of wins in the second half of the season. My personal prediction was 4 wins this year and they still may come. We are so close to turning this thing around and are not getting blown out like last year. Our boys need to learn how to finish and we could pull off some good wins this year. I hope they do...see you on Halloween at Fouts.

I went to the show and brought my 6 year old son and 7 year old daughter since school is out today. They kept asking me when the game was going to start... Anyway, I thought the show went well with lots of optimism coming from TD and George. Of course they are going to come across this way. We are only a few key plays from breaking out and I have a good feeling about beating FAU. Heartbreaking loss to LAF but good is on the horizon.

As we all know, UNT football starts today. This morning, my wife and I also found out we were pregnant (blessed with number 6). Sooooooo if the Mean Green win, then Riley could be a good name.... boy or girl. he he jk. Go Mean Green!!

I do agree with him that there should be more advertisement for our basketball program. We have a good team and it is continuing to build to a great team. 20+ wins for the last 3 seasons is something to be very proud of. The author makes an indirect jab at the stadium money being used for other advertising...I doubt very seriously that the students would have passed a fee for 'advertising'. In my opinion, our football program has only one way to go...up. When winning happens (at it will happen), the revenues come in and articles (and opinions) like these will not make it to print.

Yes!!!!! the Champaign of Beers...a staple in my garage fridge. However, we can't get it down here, I say that Yuengling is some of the best. America's oldest brewery and for some reason, we can't get it here in Texas..
-
UNT--31 Ball--24 Riley has 2 TD passes and 1 rushing TD. Cam has the other rushing TD. Special Teams gets a field goal. Defense gets two turnovers and 3 sacks. Green Koolaid is served for breakfast, lunch, and dinner at my house...

Is the game only on ESPNU?

Kram, Great post. In a few weeks our season begins...with a clean slate. the past is the past. I believe this season begins a whole new chapter in Mean Green Football...one that leads to and includes winning. the stadium issue has been resolved so there is no need for anyone to dwell on that...but we also can't (as fans) wait for the new one to be built to start to show up. this team needs 'all-weather' fans right now!

If Optimism (about This Season) Is Wrong
Travis Scott replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
I have a good feeling too. There's going to be magic when we play Ball State. First game of the college football season, on TV, we have nothing to lose, etc. I have a feeling that our guys will have a swagger about them that game. Not from being cocky but just ready to play. They are coming off one of the worst seasons in a long while and they are ready to put that behind them and move on. It's going to be fun to watch. -
