  1. Z. Orr picks up 2 key turnovers that allow the offense to punch in short yardage touchdowns. UNT 30 ULM 27
  2. To me, the hardcore fans will likely be there regardless of the start time. Obviously there are exceptions where the schedule has conflicted. We probably have about 10k fans that will always show up...so, why not increase the chances for some more to make the game by moving it up. I have a feeling that if the game was still at 6, and a small crowd came out, we would be having many posts after the game about why didn't the AD do something pro-active and move the game up to get better numbers. I hope this move pays off and a good crowd comes out...more importantly, I hope the Mean Green win.
  3. I see your point. I probably had a knee jerk reaction myself. I took this to mean that some fans are 'marketing' for support of Coach Mac. It just never entered my mind that some people had gotten to the point of not supporting him only 7 games in and a campaign was starting to support him. I guess I'm just assuming that there are those groups of fans who have already given up on him and our program. We all know what assuming does...
  4. Not crazy about the 'eyes of North Texas are upon you' line...too much of a UT rip... I love coach Mac. It's really sad that we are in 7 games in his first season and there is even a question that people aren't going to support him. To have these shirts made means that there are those that don't support him, or are pissed and bitch because we are not contending for the National Championship already 7 games in. GIVE HIM SOME TIME FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!
  5. I'm very glad they made the change. We would have gone to the UNT game regardless of the start time...but, I'm glad that this gives us the chance to have more fans at the game...especially students. I really don't understand why people are bitching about this.
  6. hopefully the coaches will do something about it. I've never understood why our d-backs aren't coached to put their hands up or turn for the ball. Maybe they are coached to do that and the players just don't execute. I'm not a coach, but after several years of the same results of our backs being burned, I would think that there is something to learn here. Maybe our backs are just that slow and recruits with speed will help. I don't know what the answer is, I hope they figure it out soon
  7. the success of Jason Witten has warped our thinking.
  8. Yesterday was a frustrating loss. I'm certainly not going to try and figure out the performance or the decisions of the coaches...I am just a fan, not a coach. Obviously we have areas to work at, but I'm quite sure that the staff knows what they are. This team needs our support...plain and simple. Next Saturday is going to be awesome. The weather should be perfect...great tailgating...and what I believe what will be a great game. Our team has the chance to make it 3 home wins in a season. I don't know the exact stats, but when was the last time that happened? We are protecting our house! Yes, the Rangers will be playing at the same time...use your DVR or smart phones to follow that game. Think of how fun it will be to see another win at Apogee. That place is such a special venue for college football. The whole atmosphere is contagious. It's just fun and should be enjoyed by all of us. Come to Homecoming, enjoy the weather, eat and drink tons of good stuff, and watch our team get the 3rd win this season. ...can't wait for next Saturday
  9. Royce had a great game Saturday. but...I don't understand how he is seen as a great player though. I guess if rarely turning around for the ball or tackling is what we want out of our d-backs, then I guess he's awesome. (bring on the minus's if you must)
  10. So glad you and your family stopped by. It was nice to meet you guys. The bacon wrapped dove was heaven!
  11. NORTH!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. our group usually is in the red/blue lot behind the dorms. i always have a Mean Green flag flying from my truck with a UNT football on top...easy to see. Would love to meet some GMG folks. grill is open if you ever need it.
  13. Revised prediction... UNT wins 27-24 this weekend. 18,358 will attend. 3,687 bastards will still be tailgating during the game and never make it in. 4,532 people will leave at halftime because UNT will be up by 2 touchdowns and so they think we have it in the bag. 2,178 more people will leave in the last 5 minutes because we just gave up our lead and are tied with FAU driving to score and go ahead. The remaining 11,648 will see UNT defense step up and get a turnover and we drive down for a game winning field goal. 5845 people stay for the school song…only 39 know the words. 3 men from an older generation have a legitimate sports cry after seeing 2 home wins in the same season. 1 guy is really sweaty wearing an eagle costume. Those are my predictions.
  14. Outlaw will have a big game and UNT wins 27-24. FAU will make it close with some late mop-up touchdowns.
  15. Thanks for the invite! I hope to make it.
  16. what channel is showing the game? didn't see it on espn3
  17. nice post. This team and the game day experience at Apogee will continue to get better each week. Can't wait for FAU on the 8th!
  18. We pooped on ourselves against a very good FIU team. After last night's effort and heart, I am very excited for the remaining Belt games we have this year. I believe that if we come out with the same intensity, we stand a good chance of winning several conference games. Even with the smaller than desired crowd there last night, Apogee was electric. This team now has learned how to finish a game (almost didn't)and that confidence should carry well into our conference games. I can't wait for FAU in 2 weeks. Apogee Stadium is such a great place to watch a game. Go Mean Green!
  19. it keeps the granola happy...
  20. if we play like we played for 3 quarters tonight in the rest of the belt games, we stand to do well. obviously we need to play well for 4 quarters.
  21. I'd love to see Lance blow up their defense. However, I think Hamilton will break for a few long runs. Either way, I want a win and I think it's possible. should be fun, can't wait.
  22. I'm not a fan of Saban or his ego. I'm afraid he'll run it up for stats.
  23. For the players, these types of games are a rare opportunity. How often do they get to play in front of 100,000 people. Yes, they are cheering for the other team, but what an experience that must be like. The big risk is injury. Other than that, it's a good thing to have a money game every year. More money for the program, a chance to shock the world, usually a TV game, and an experience for the players that they have never had in high school or other college games. again, no injuries is the key.
  24. I heard the game on the radio in the restroom on the home side closest to the athletic center. I didn't miss the game at all. I did miss the waterless urinals...where did they go?
