Constructive Criticism
greenblooded43 replied to The Fake Lonnie Finch's topic in Mean Green Football
Maybe its not the friends of the coaches that Dodge needs to get rid of . Maybe its the players, that their families are friends of some of the coaches. There are some players on this team that have no sense of urgency. -
Constructive Criticism

The only true offensive linemen that could start on the D1 level is Gill and Drake. The other 3 are too weak to play at this level. We have a nice weight room they may want to use it. A D1 offensive lineman should bench 380-400 pounds, Squat over 525, 5.0-5.2 40yd, and 4.6-4.8 in the pro agility. If they can't do that they shouldn't play no excuses. I am not sure none of them can that. Rodge is constant pressured and hurried on half of the plays. Until this changes, we will never develope the younger talent in the line, because, their is no bell cow for them to look too. Oh yeah, Think we were inside the 2yard line twice against Ohio. Seen a lot of improvement there!! -

I think all suggestions are ridiculous. Your college coaches on staff are not faring that much better. Wake up!!! We are still giving up to many points and yardage. Of course the DC, Says its the turnovers because of the field position thats why? Another excuse !!! Our DC is over his head with the offensive schemes in this league. Also, New young guys doing good and same old players with losing experience are still bad. (Personal fouls, missing blocking assignments, and missing tackles) but, the great college coaches we have keep putting them in. WoW. Some how there is no responsiblity for their actions because a brother, cousin, dad or grand father played here or knows a coach. You say thats college coaching. You will lose with that recipe. I would play the whole team until I found someone to do the job. Your losing anyway!! -
What Makes Brett Vito A Football Guru?
greenblooded43 replied to greenblooded43's topic in Mean Green Football
My final point to all this. People have commented that I have been unfair in remarks about Vito. Yet all I did is turn the tables on him. The people on this forum came to his defense. Thats because some of you feel strongly he is a good reporter. I'm just saying we should come to our teams defense the same way when there is negative out put as well. Vito needs to realize that just like he has been defended here on the forum, there are people out there who are going to defend UNT players and program as well. His opinion or perspective is not always in the best interest of the program and at a time like this we need to show our support. If Vito can't support the team he can at least report just the facts. These young men are away from home, trying to come together and do something good. Something their parents can be proud of! Does Vito realize that the players and recruits read what he writes as well? He is a link for them. He should consider it... By the way Home and Garden is not a good fit for Vito. UNT is, if he uses his god given ability. -

Okay rcabe, you believe and follow the football media of no return. This should not be the gomeangreen forum it should be the Bash UNT Football forum. I will let your buddy off the hook. I still feel he is not reporting the way he can because of a personal issuses. Always in it to get someone. -
What Makes Brett Vito A Football Guru?

Actually, NT03 You want the same thing I want, a good program. If this guy is mad at Dodge get over it. There are good players here and future players that will come here as well. Players and Recruits need a good mind set. Brett Vito is probably a good guy however, I would like him to take a different route in his reporting this spring. Be positive with the players and give them a chance. If he sees a guy throws three picks then report it and leave it at that. Don't go into well last year. If the MeanGreen Nation becomes one (Alumni,Fans,Students, Players, City of Denton & surrounding small towns ,Coaches and media) Watch out !!!!! If Vito doesn't see it or want this for his hometown then he hurts all of us. There are bright spots on this team. Coach Ausmus, the new D line coach, Kd back, Linebackers, The new JC Safety and ect. NT03 Hopefully, this stuff gets resolved. Greenblooded -

First of all, not only Denton reads the news but all of Dallas too. So who would want to come play at UNT with the negative trash that is in the paper every week? Actually this spring we lost two good recruits due to his little comments. One of those players was an All District 4A safety. But again his negative comment about the kid having only one college offer, North Texas. This comment shyed the player away from us and him ending up walking on at a D1-AA college. The player had not even put on pads for UNT and he was already put down by the super football Guru Vito. NT03 If you think that having a sports writer that has to view his negative opinions all the time is good for this program and the recruiting, your WRONG!!! AND THE DENTON FAN BASE!!! After some of the people in the area read the Chronicle I wouldnt go watch them play either. If this was USC, the newspaper wouldnt want this clown writing for the USC football team and Pete Carroll due to his lack of knowledge of the game. USC and the alumni would run this little man out of town. But the problem is, this is not USC and this is why this guy has this job writing negative and opinionated crap on our football team. His job is to report what is going on the field not to put down the players or players the coaches are trying to recruit. How does he know whos good enough to play or not??? HIS JOB IS TO REPORT THE NEWS, NOT TO RECRUIT OR MAKE THE DEPTH CHART!!! This is why this topic started. I will not stop until either this guy is gone or the news is not this negative crap or I get kicked of this forum!! ha ha He has a grudge against UNT Football so I have a grudge against him. -

I will be waiting for observation deck on Monday March 9th for some more negative output. 7 Negative opinions as of to date. My favorite reporting incedent was when Geraldo Rivera ask a wrestler, "is wrestling fake". Well, we all know what happened. A bloody nose for Geraldo and the wrestler said," is that fake". -

Rcade my beef is not with you. My opinions are mine as a UNT fan and ex-college player in a top 25 program back in the day. If I said Vizza was not playing to his potential he probably wasn't. However, when you lose recruits and say players will not perform without even taken a snap you have problems. What I write doesn't mean nothing but, what he writes does. There is a difference he represents UNT Football. Basically, RV, Dodge, and staff have tried to make changes to win. Write about the Positives in the program. The negative is like beating a dead horse. Yes, they are 3-21., we all know that. All I know is I would like to see a little more profesionalism between him and the program. Talk about what they are trying to do to repair the damage of the last 2 years. I have seen a practice it looks like a team with some confidence, leadership and is being coached up. Vito,Talks about a position that maybe positive or negative for a player, a player may get injured, to short or fat,Whatever. -

Actually, I was being a smart @#$% because he tends rip on everyone else. No just a better journalist for our UNT Football team. I made it personal because he does. Rcade are you one of his little puppet friends? -

greenblooded43 replied to greenblooded43's topic in Mean Green Football
My attack on him was what he does to the coaches and players. Look small or to fat or whatever this flunky comes up with. Why don't you report the things that matter. Like who is competing for positions, how Ausmus strength and conditioning program has helped so far. How the education is turning around. These are all foundations for a good program. That season is over. Time to look ahead His blogs are opinions that I know for a fact are not on the money. If he supports our home team fine. Right now, he is a bad reporter. Get your facts before you say someone can't play or this may not happen. By the way Wooden was a awesome basketball player Espn have real football players or coaches as experts. You have 18-20 year olds listening to this crap. Why would you want to play in this town with the great football expert, Vito, ripping on your every move and then speculate. It is always negative. This post will not go away as long as he has some respect for our football program. Vito sure don't help the fan base and recruiting. He is part of the problem as well. He is the one that makes it personal. -

No, because he takes low shots and he has made things personal. So, you feel this guy is for our football team? So, if he don't like it get off the forum. He claims to know alot with his opinions. Report the news. Don't make it what you want it. He is no Dale Hansen. Don't ban him just boycott his Blog and his trash reports, then. We will take a running poll of everytime he says something negative about the program. Starting Thursday. He is the reporter for our mean green football team. Blog March 5th=2 Neg. opinions Also, he knows who should be playing. Blog March 6th=5 Neg. opinions -
WOW!!! The closest this guy has ever got to a jock is probably washing them. He looks like a writer for Home and Garden. Do the Home and Garden observation deck. Please Vito, your a peice of work if you have nothing good to report about UNT football, then quit reporting. Go tell Cantly to his face or any other player they can't play (good news or bad news). Your such a physical specimen. Oh by the way, did you get picked on when your little (or now) . Seek some counseling, Please !!!!!!!!! I would ban you from the site and get another reporter. Boycott this guys trash and opinions. UNT football site members and fans are better than this guy.Ban him.

CLICK THIS LINK: <---------------- WATCH THIS!!! Watch this film this kid doesnt look weak to me. He takes a hit from a 6'7" 328lbs Defensive Tackle to WIN a game that was if front of 50,000 people. 50,000 people that sounds like D1 crowd to me and he is only a junior in High School. Your an idiot, before post crap like this go look up some credentials on Riley Dodge. Got news for you Riley's experience is about even with Gios or better. He played in some very high pressured games in HS that had more pressure than these little North Texas games that Gio has played in. The expectations Riley had in High School where higher than Gio's right now. Riley had to WIN EVERY GAME or he did not meet Southlake's expectations. I know gamers when I see them and Gio is not a gamer and thats clear bc he cannot move or run in this offense and he is an okay passer. Hell Meager had better games the season before with passing the football. But the point is Riley Dodge has been running this offense way longer than Gio has and as far as the team goes they need a leader that has been in every situation in this offense and can get points on the board. Not making stupid decisions when points are needed like Gio has done. Sorry but offense and defense go hand n hand the longer the offense is on the field the defense is off. Also when your offense keeps scoring on every drive it kills the will of your opponents. Riley Dodge can run this offense, also most of all if his WRs are all covered, his ass can take off and get 1st downs. '09 will be alot different cause we are going places.

Coaching/playing Experience !
greenblooded43 replied to greenblooded43's topic in Mean Green Football
Just telling a fact. Coach Dodge and his staff give a !@#$##. You guys praise the players on this forum when they play like crap. QB's LB's . the guy on the main blog gives starting players praise. wake up!!!!! All Starting positions should be open. Gangrene, I played as well. Team is the issue. Get on the team . Players need to be responsible for thier actions. -
FYI - When it comes to coaching and playing, there is a big difference between D1 and D3 even back 20 yrs ago. The way I look at it, playing experience helps your coaching experience especially at a higher level. Question- Would you want a guy like Colt McCoy coaching your D1 QB's or a D3 guy coaching your D1 QB's in the future, that never experience that atmosphere. However if the D3 coach hangs around long enough and knows the right people he can be moved up to D1. This being said we need to get off all the coaches' back bc I think the experience levels out between them. We have coaches that have coached at a high powered high school that played D1 football and then you have coaches that have D1 coaching experience that never played D1 competition as a player. So lets be fair, bc our defensive coordinator came from the same place as our special teams coach. One went on to coach JUCO and the other went on to coach a State Championship Texas HS Team. ALL ASPECTS OF THE GAME AT NORTH TEXAS NEEDS TO BE WORKED ON AND ALL HAVE EXPERIENCED COACHES TO GET IT DONE!! Playing Experience: HC- TODD DODGE - TEXAS D1 Offense Coaches OC- TODD FORD - TEXAS D1 WR- CLAYTON GEORGE- NORTH TEXAS - D1 RB- SHELTON GANDY- SOUTHERN MISS - D1 OL- SPENCER LEFTWICH- STEPHEN F AUSTIN - D2 @ that time. Defensive Coaches DC- GARY DELOACH - HOWARD PAYNE - D3 DT- ROBERT DRAKE- HOWARD PAYNE - D3 DE- DAVID ROUSCH - HARDIN SIMMONS - D3 S- CHUCK PETERSEN - AIR FORCE - D1 CB- BUCKELS - LSU - D1

Excuses are like @#%% everyone has one

By the way, I think the whole UCLA coaching staff got canned. Your telling me 55 points avg. per game he is doing all he can. Those skins ain't nothing. I guess we should call the new staduim deloach field since he has done so much. lol. If you accept the way the defense is playing then you accept losing, VE and tasty greek.
-
I hope Deloach can recriut better than he can coach defense. Believe me, his yelling ain't getting it done. He needs to coach, after all he's to good to wear headphones and let his other assistants in the box help. Another observation, when the offense is on the field, he needs to be with his defense and letting them know what the F@#$$%^ just happened to them. Watching the offense isn't helping our defense. The other coaches are working at thier jobs on the bench. I'm tired of coach Dodge and his other coaches, he brought in, catching flack about being H.S.. Well the the DC is a D-1 coach, whatever, he should catch as much flack as the special teams coach. Personally, Deloach hasn't showed me anything . Football is Football. Try doing something besides cover 1 all night, we got burned. Believe me there could of been adjustments.

The problem with this post is that SMU sucks. Last year Hawaii, played in the BCS got beat so bad i think they were the laughing stock of college football. We play SMU next year we beat them by 3 touchdowns. Give me a break, By the way, go root for someone else like SMU. you will be bitching the rest of your life.
