  1. We have to take baby steps to reach our goal. One small trimph at a time. First we got a credible coach whose name carries alot of weight. Second the right to put the vote for a new stadium on the ticket, Next the students vote - and hopefully the win. Once we win - then we will build the stadium and the players will come because we care and have invested in the school. We want it all and now. It does not happen that way. We are working with what we have until we get what we need ~ a new stadium.
  2. I believe this is the flyer link if any student is interested. Just putting it out there.... https://admin.xosn.com/pdf5/142818.pdf?&amp...;DB_OEM_ID=1800
  3. Do college kids really read the paper? - they're more likely to pick up a copy of the Quick paper by the DMN (just a snapshot of the news)
  4. How about getting students make a hand made banner - Vote yes, with the date, online for the new stadium - hanging outside a dorm or something? cheap but gets the word out ~
  5. Can we create a web page talking about the facts of a "new stadium"? It would be informational in nature and people at least have the facts straight - and vote based on that? A page committed to the new stadium?
  6. I am not saying it's not a good idea, just check the policies first...
  7. We should probably stay out of it....
  8. You're right...let's not ruin it! Can we get with the "SGA"?? to see what kind if AD is allowed??
  9. I think buttons and a rally are a great idea...rock the waters and maybe the NT Daily will cover it...
  10. i personally think this is a good idea...and also can we mention that you can vote online in the ad?
  11. OK - so 68 people have joined "Students for a New Stadium" since saturday night after the Rice loss ??? Good news for all of us -
  12. Are they communicating to students that you can vote online? does anyone know?
  13. Wow! 12 joined in a little over an hour? Nice...1,769 For a New stadium
  14. Ok 1,757 - keep it coming!!
  15. Can we have a vote "Yes" link posted on the Students for a New Stadium" Facebook page?
  16. I think we need to get this word out ASAP!!!
  17. I don't know...that is what was posted on Facebook!
  18. Just making sure the communication gets out: "How you can help" posted on "Students for a New Stadium": "1. Go to North Texas games. 2. Pick up glass paint at Wal-Mart and write messages on your back windshield like "Vote 'YES' 4 the Stadium" or "Vote 'YES' 4 Athletics" 3. VOTE. Don't become complacent and assume this referendum will pass or fail based on media stories. You can vote online, it's really easy. 4. Talk to students about the real need for a stadium, how Fouts Field is in very bad shape and the cost to repair it would mean an even higher fee for students."
  19. You are at 1,746 way to go UNTFlyer! I think last night we were at 1732 or somthing? Maybe we can crack 2,000~
  20. Facebook post updated 11 hrs ago (sorry guys I am going to try to focus on the positive): "Alright! So this past wednesday, the Resolution F2008-08 Athletic Fee was passed by SGA. This resolution means that the student body will be voting upon whether or not they want to raise the athletic fee from $3 per semester credit hour to $10 per semester credit hour. The money from this increase will be used to improve the athletic facilities on campus. The reasons why one should vote "yes": The money will allow the construction of the new football stadium which is needed because Fouts Field only has a few years of life in it. The longer we wait to build the new stadium, the more it will cost to build a new stadium and the student body will be have an even greater increase of athletic fees. The construction of the new stadium (which will be green friendly) has the great possibility of getting great national publicity. University of North Texas will definitely have a greater dot on the map, giving degrees from UNT a higher caliber. Fouts Field cannot attract the talent. Most high school football players in the DFW area play in better football stadiums than Fouts Field. Those potential drafts are not going to want to play for a college that has a stadium that is of worse quality of their high school stadium. The student body will not have the increase of athletic fees until the new stadium is open. The cost of athletic fees will cap off at $150 per semester and the normal student fees will also be decreased by $3 per semester hour. So at max, the increase of total fees will be only $60 per semester. The new stadium will be able to house big name concerts. UT charges $20 per semester credit hour for athletic fees and then still charge the students for going to athletic events. UNT will only charge $10 per semester credit hour and the admission of varsity sport games at our stadium will still be free! Fouts Field is not in the shape to host high power visitors like Texas senators or even US senators or congressmen. The cost of upkeep for Fouts Field keeps on increasing at an accelerated rate and eventually by not building a new stadium, the school will be losing more money than it is gaining from football games. More is to come, feel free to ask questions, if I don't know them, I can find someone who does !Report"
  21. Good - we are up to 1,737. Nice to see Facebook is growing after the loss! Trying to stay positive!
  22. or "There's no Fouts about it, the time for change is now" ok I am getting delirious now...
  23. How about "The BIG UNT Debate" VOTE For The Fall of Founts in 2008! ~ Lame huh? I know...
  24. WOOO-HOOO we're at 1,732 - we're not stoping even after the "Rice" loss -
  25. This year our news may be off the field and not on the field. Once we build the stadium, we will have news on the field.
