Any final word on the game?

Remember - they scored 77 points on us two years ago - and squeaked by with a win tonight (by chance- not talent). As far as I can see this is a huge improvement. You guys were not at the edge of your seats two years ago and biting your nails. You all watched the game til the end while two years ago people left before half time. I think there is an improvement- and the guys on the field played well and are doing things we haven't seen. They have improved with baby steps and change does not happen over night. I believe we will start winning. This is about showing support for the effort, team, and have pride in UNT. Clemson and Rice were both better games than what I have seen in the past several past years. Maybe you are upset because the game was so close is a good thing and not a bad one. A complete 77-10 blow out would have made me feel hopeless. Recognize we actually competed tonight. All this negative feedback is really unbearable and embarrassing.

Rice Comes to Denton North Texas will open at home against Rice Saturday. This will be the last home opener at Fouts Field. At the end of the season, we could potentially be looking back at this game to be the most pivotal. North Texas needs to win this game. UNT gained confidence with their performance in front of 75,000 fans in Death Valley. They need to build on that to beat Rice so they can travel to West Point with a 1-1 record to face Army. A potential win against Army and the Mean Green are going into Sun Belt play with a winning record. UNT and Rice recruit the same players. Let’s face it, UNT and Rice are fighting to stay out of the bottom rung of the Texas college football teams. If UNT avenges its loss to Rice from a year ago, and since they are about to move into new football facilities, this scenario could possibly sway some recruits to Denton over Rice. North Texas can win if they erase some of the mental mistakes that cost them momentum building drives. The defensive will not be facing the caliber players in Rice that they faced last week. That should amount to not giving up the big play. Tune, Dunbar, and company should see more time in the end zone this weekend. They have the talent. They will have the crowd. I think it only makes sense to have a university - with its extended campuses to have the same color. I cannot even believe the UNT Dallas Campus has different colors. I think this is a great part of the transistion for branding and marketing for the university.

I have been doing lots of reading on the nx35 and UNT is supporting the event. There are lot of write-ups, media coverage, and blogs on the event! This is great!! I really hope this continues to grow - I think with the stadium, hotel, and all the other things happening in Denton - this is a great time for the University and the community!

Can I just say..that I was wondering when this was coming!!!! I knew it!

I think it says something two fold... 1) Dodge is serious about his team and those players who are not committed 100% should go somewhere else...with a spin.... 2) Dodge may have seen a problem and maybe someone needed to address it. (A problem for the team and the school.) Maybe those more serious players, wanted others to be more committed. How else would he have known to do this? - something leaked.... Don't know, but I think this could be something good. I have not read the other posts...but if he can help the players great - if the players cannot help themselves...then they need to make a choice.
