  1. Probably won't be a very close game either.
  2. Glad Zack Thomas didn't think like that!
  3. Here is what I find funny about this discussion: Why should anyone on here think that DD leads this team? We all know about his emotion on the sidelines, we all know that he can't seem to control or punish any of his teams when it comes to how the react in the form of penalties on the field, so why would be expect him to do anything out of the norm of these things. If he doesn't make the team stand there, so be it. Frankly, it shouldn't take DD making his team stand there....they should enough pride playing for the university to take it upon themselves to do it. This shows that there are NO leaders on this team. Maybe the seniors should step up and do it. Or, how about Cobbs - I hear what a leader he is, where is his leadership? I don't agree with a lot of what DD does, but these guys need to step up as players.
  4. You should ALWAYS support your team regardless of what happens on the field....Sometimes it is hard to watch, but you still support.
  5. There may be live mic there, but it is never used, and will probably never be used.
  6. I would say that Meager looks 5 times better than Bomar. I really don't see what anyone sees in Bomar. That kid has looked like he did saturday in all of the games he has played this season. As a good friend of mine told me on saturday who lives in OK City and is a sooner fan, if Bomar is in deed getting better, than it is not hard to get better when you start at total crap. Seriously, I think Meager looks a lot better than Bomar
  7. Here's another one: 1. How much of a melt down will there be in Austin if this OU team beats UT tomorrow?
  8. The "I like the aggresivness" is an excuse of why he can't control his team. Most great coaches don't put up with that.
  9. So was there only one out there?
  10. You are worrying for no reason.....not uncommon for people to leave in the same year, especially from a large university such as North Texas.
  11. Well if Vito if ever have the guts to ask him any more serious questions than I am sure the ones he does ask, then we might get some other comments. I love George and Hank, but they need to ask some tougher questions too.
  12. The mere fact that we don't see this guy on the sidelines getting in his players faces, enouraging his players, or showing any emotion on the sidelines is a pretty good indication of what that interview was like. I see him in the barber shop ever so often, and he doesn't really excite me about the team.
  13. Well I am not suggesting that it will work here, but I am suggesting that if we are going to rotate RB's (which is not at this time working), then we should rotate QB's too. At this point in time, rotating QB's would give us a chance to see them both in game time situations. Who knows. I agree though, rotating doesn't work, though some coach tries it every year.
  14. I personally (though I am not a coach) think that it is a bad for team chemistry to constantly be changing from two different players at one postion, as it hurts the flow of the team. That being said, I find it increasingly funny each game I watch, that DD refuses to play Phillips when the week of the first game, he couldn't decide which QB would start, due to the race being that close. If it was in fact that close, then he really had trouble deciding which QB had the upper hand. So then why does he refuse to play Phillips when Meager is taking our offense NO WHERE? The other thing I find funny, is that apparently we have the same problem at RB in that we have two guys with the same ability. Now I understand there is a little bit of a difference here, but seriously. How much better might this team flow if one running back was used most of the time? Yet DD just keeps sending each out there rotating them. I don't know, just something I was thinking for my two cents on this subject.
  15. Coach bell is leaving this season and you appear to be the front runner for his job - Congrats!
  16. I will agree that we are young and it is going to take some time, but couldn't we have done a little more planning. Could we have not gone out and picked up a Junior College player for the QB position when we knew there might be a chance that we would be lacking in that department? 4 straight bowl games and we can't recruit a better QB than we have now? Just curious, but when James Battle wanted to leave TCU, why didn't we go after him hard? I know, the excuse was "well he doesn't have to sit out a year at SFA" but heck, he might as well, as he has yet to play down there.
  17. You can use the "if we had a new stadium our recruiting would go up" all you want, but I just don't buy into that. Yes it would be nice to have a new one, and yes it might help a little, but in the grand scheme of recruiting it will not matter that much. Look at the Super Pit. Players walk into that and go "wow, I would like to play here?" Then they come to a game and go "good gosh, nice place, but no one is here to watch them play." Fan support and winning go hand in hand.
  18. Before Tuesday, I would have said that we would have won the conf games and lost to La tech. Now, I think we will probably only win a couple more.
  19. Good article, but he need to go further and deeper and start calling out the coaches for the lack of discipline on the team. Also needs to question DD a little bit more for the offense. I am glad to see that he didn't pull the "we are so young" notion up.
  20. untStein and eagle60 are on to something I have been asking myself for 2 years now....and that is: What if DD is the type of coach that can't take us to the next level? There are many coaches that are good at taking teams to a certain level, but can't make the next step. Ken Hatfield is one and John Mackovick is another. At some point, we need to seriously look at this and move forward. I am not suggesting that we get rid of DD, we just need to see if that is an option. Also wondering if anyone notice that Troy's lines were bigger than ours? I didn't. In fact, I didn't see any of their players that were much better than ours. Funny because they have a new stadium that is supposedly the cure that DD needs to bringing in bigger, and better recruits.
  21. You think he can't control the unsportsman penalties......the last time we played OU, OU committed 4 of those penalities, and the first thing out of Stoop's mouth in his post game comments was an opology to the OU faithful for his teams lack of discipline and told them that would NOT happen again as long as he was the coach. Since then they have yet to have a game where that has happened. You want to stop it, bench some guys evertime they do it.....regardless of our talent. If a coach wants to stop it, he can....problem is DD doesn't care.
  22. I know I keep harping on this oline problem, but look at OU this season. They had the same problem up there where they lost a lot of guys on the oline, but now have gotten the new folks up there to do some of their part as the running backs are now having holes to run through.....maybe Stoops and the Oline coach up there could do like a half day coaching clinic for DD and his oline coach?
  23. So are we to assume that the o-line this year is 75% new people? I just don't get it....we have had no hole for these guys to run through all season and that makes no sense. Graduation I can understand, but unless they all graduated up there we should have a little bit of experience. Did anyone hear what Dickey had to say in the post game interview? What did he say? or rather, what excuse did he give? Also, does anyone go out to the coaches show? and if so, does or has DD ever addressed all of these stupid penalties....we had 2 Defensive offsides penalties last night on the SAME DRIVE!
  24. NEVER.....talking to a huge DD supporter this morning and he tried to convince me that all colleges have all of the penalties and unsportsman like penalties.
  25. WOW - over 200 yards of offense tonight - I would have thought that it was much lower.
