Why is Northern Illinois able to come into TX and recuit players to go play up there before they come here to play. NI has a starting WR from San Antonio.

Yip he is exactly right (tongue in cheek)....the reason our recruiting is so down has nothing to do with the play on the field or even the coaches, as it has all to do with us fans. Guys we gotta pick it up in recruiting - we all need to be out there at these recriuts homes recruiting these kids - its up to us. Get Real.

Unfortunately we don't have a prayer of a chance of landing one of these two QB's - One is committed to Georgia and the other to Texas.

JJ may get a better pass with the fans by virtue of the fact that football is king here TX. Don't be shocked though if JJ doesn't have at least above a .500 season this year, that they will move in a different direction. There is absolutely no reason why a basketball team can not have success here at UNT.

Sorry to say, and maybe this is the wrong thinking - but I would take that happening here at UNT if we have 60,000+ people at a stadium where we were playing to go to the Big 12 championship game.

There will be a very good high school game too this weekend out at Fouts. You should go out if you enjoy watching good offenses. It will also give you a chance to watch a couple of very good QB's, coaches that actually have more than 3 plays, and you might even see more people at this game than UNT gets. If you do end up going though, don't kid yourself, DD won't be out recruiting QB's like these for they are too developed for Dickey ball.

After reading about that meeting from the paper, there are some really sad issues to come out of it. Dickey says they might go after a jc qb if they think he can get up to speed at running their offense. That statement in itself ought to be enough to can him. Are you kidding me - thats a joke right? We have two very capable people of running this offense. Actually, we have 50+ guys who can run it. I am sure that most of the players on this team can hand the ball off and throw a pass 10 yards. And what did anyone see this year, that leads you to believe this team will have a chance against SMU? Forget Texass, there is no way this team this year is capable of beating this year's SMU team for sure. This is a pathetic team, and I am sorry to say, it is not going to get that much better in one season.

If you think that DD's offense tends to be boring at times with too much running - you don't don't want Hatfield in here as coach. After 5 watching him during all of those season at Arkansas, I couldn't handle watching that again. Hatfield is a good guy, that runs a good and clean program, but man is his offense boring to watch over and over again.

Does it not concern you that we have no area kids in the top 100 that are interested in coming to play here after what Dickey has accomplished in the last 5 years? Why are we not out recruiting at least the D1AA schools?

uhhhhhh let's not put Dickey in with either of those two. I understand we were young and he deserves to have a down season, but after 4 conf titles in a row, our recruiting should be good enough to get us to at least 4 or 5 wins in a down season not 2 in a year in which we didn't even win a home game.

It is the mark of Dickey ball. I have said this ever since he has been here and it never gets better. All of these stupid penalties shows not only a lack of discipline, but it also shows a total and complete lack of coaching across the board. The frank of the matter is that it is not going change. Dickey can say all he wants, but we all know as long as we have followed Dickey, he just says things to make people think he is fooling them. He will not change things unless he is made to do it, but unfortunately, it really won't matter if he himself doesn't change, since he is the leader of not only this football team, but his coaching staff as well.

Bad news for some on here - but this years Eagle team, could not beat this years SMU team, and really looking bleak for us to beat them this next year.

What a shocker - an un necessary flag, that brings back a great play. Typical DD football. He probably took the kid out for a beer tonight to celebrate.

You guys are thinking way too much. DD's brain can't come up with more than about 5 plays, so there is no way he would come up with what you are suggesting in the middle of the game. Sorry, but his mind simply doesn't work that much.

Unfortunately there are not enough of us that feel the same way we do. Until there are more, we will continue to have to put up with his crap.
